Arrangements to have a taxi driver collect us from the airport worked well. We were staying in a fantastic room with an open side toward to the sea. Listening to the waves crash on the beach, under a mozzy net, all night is not for everyone, but suited us perfectly. The lodge is rustic and was built by Rob who leased the land from locals 20+ years ago. Personally I loved that it was original and unique and different than the other five lodges in the compound. Each morning we ate a nice breakfast prepared by the family, and then walked the steep steps down to the beach. We watched the surfers and felt we deserved the fish bbq on the beach as the sunset. Rob also arranged a driver to take us to Ubud for the day out which also worked out well, but note it is a long (2.5 hour) drive each way. Friendly and peaceful. Do not expect cookie-cutter standard apartments with air-con, but rustic luxury is certainly a good way to describe Rob's place.
