Panorama Cottages

Panorama Backpackers is a place we didn’t want to leave: we came just for a few nights but ended up staying 10! A fantastic place to relax and rejuvenate. It’s hard to find any fault with the place. The staff are friendly and helpful, rooms simple but comfortable and very clean, and there is around the clock power available making it possible to have the fan on at night. The setting on a lush hillside gives a panoramic view of the sea. There is a very good house reef accessible from the beach ~100m swim away. Food here is delicious and plentiful. There was daily fresh fish and vegetables and a good variation of chicken and beef dishes plus veggie options including tofu, tempeh and tasty fresh salads. Fresh fruit was served after each meal, which was such a nice touch. The made-to-order banana pancakes and omelettes were spot on at breakfast time. The adjoining dive school offers excellent value half-day trips where snorkelers are welcome to join the dive boat for just 50,000Rp per morning (snorkeling gear can be hired for an extra fee if you don’t have your own). We went many times and saw a lot of the beautiful reefs and abundant marine life surrounding Bunaken and Manado Tua island! My husband also did a scuba dive here and could highly recommend the dive operation run by experienced Sven and his professional boat crew and dive team. Animal lovers will also be happy here: many friendly dogs and cats around! We can’t wait to come back.
