Marriot Hotels (Le Merridien) have their own way of checking in and it's always very comfortable. If you're a Marriot Member, then they pretty much always upgrade you if there is room available. After a warm welcome, we went to our room which was very clean, very well appointed and large. It also had a large balcony overlooking the pool which is always nice to have. Exiting from the back of the hotel, you are met with all the local restaurants cooking their fresh seafood on barbecues/grills and all of them are walk-through's to the beach. At night this is all lit up and people are eating at tables on the beach. So the hotel is extremely well positioned. The food at Le Merridian was excellent and they took a lot of pride in it. I made a small comment about a particular dish which was taken so seriously that I met with guest relations and ultimately the Chef de Cuisine! See? So rare to find that level of hospitality. We had a great time discussing food and we ended up cooking together and sharing a special time. Great memories made. When I locked my safe with the incorrect code (oops), they were up in 5 minutes to open it for me so we could go out for dinner. Again, that kind of service is just exceptional. Perfect place to "flop n' drop" for a stay - wake up, walk on the beautiful and stunning beach, have a brilliant breakfast, go to the pool, late afternoon snooze, eat dinner - repeat!. All in all, highly recommended as a hotel to stay in beautiful Jimbaran.
