We stayed here during December. It was a quiet and affordable home stay. A short ride to the beach and everything. Our fishing trips with Made were very fun. He is very friendly and heartwarming. We truly enjoyed our fishing trips and stay.

Nice homestay

Mimpi Manis is perfect for the budget traveller. Rooms are simple and clean. The included breakfast of pancakes were very tasty. Staff are helpful and friendly, and can help arrange transport and tours.


Quaint Homestay

My second time in Mimpi Manis. Last time 3 years ago. I hope to be back next or in 2 years. Thats the place you need in Kuta. Snorkeling trip was also very good. Recommended. Made and Gemma see you again!

Again great stay

My partner &I stayed there for a night for our first night in Kuta. We got recommended by another traveler so we picked the place. 
 The manager lady was very sweet and I dont mind that the location is away from the center Kuta.  
The problem was the shower did not work. Only a trickle of water was coming out. Also there was not hot water as mentioned. We weren’t so bother by it since we just needed a place to crash...but at night we turned on the AC, and it was sooo loud we could not sleep. And the staff there could not fix it so we requested a fan in our room instead. And the bed was uncomfortable & squeaky :(.     Its a nice place to stay, very homey but there were just things not working which made us leave.

could use an upgrade

I wanted to go fishing while in Lombok, so I chose Mimpi Manis since the owners run their own one-day fishing boat charters and snorkeling tours.  The accommodation at MM is clean and functional.  

In hindsight, I should have stayed somewhere more central to restaurants and shops, or outside Kuta altogether since a decent beach (in front of the Novotel) is still 5-6km away, a good beach (Tanjung Aan) is 10km away, and the area's best beach (Selong Belanek) is 20km away (in the other direction with some beautiful scenery).  Whatever you do, don't waste your precious time on Kuta's main beach which was a big disappointment. 

To its credit, MM offers free drop offs and pick ups in the immediate local area when the staff is available, but if you really want to get around you need your own scooter.  If you don't have your own wheels, you have to prearrange transport (there are lots of travel agents in the central part of Kuta) since car hailing apps such as Grab, Gojek and My Bluebird are unable to pick up from Kuta for some reason.

Good for tours, not for beaches

One of my worst nights in Indonesia. When I got to the hotel I wanted to go to the bathroom and the bats were present, I resigned myself to showering here. During the night the mosque at 4 am is one thing but their dog screaming to death and no one to silence them is another. From 4 am to 5 am impossible to close my eyes. I won't talk about the unfortunate state of the room and bed, I wasn't calm during the night because I couldn't determine if it was the mosquito net or our sheets that was dirtiest. The only advantage: the price. My advice to avoid.

Disastrous

We chose MM based on the reviews here. And it was spot on.
Snorkel with Gemma, and you will see a different world . It really doesnt look much from above. The magic starts when we were in the water.  Gemma s local knowledge was excellent, from recognising resident fishes , where the nasty stone fishes were  and pointing out current flows makes it a safe outing.  
Fishing with Made , was great. He provides the equipment( good condition) engages us throughout the trip . Excellent for beginners . 6 hrs out in the boat , and then lunch with your catch back at MM. Just Great !
And the wifi was reliable at MM. 

Mimpi Manis it was  !

affordable homestay run by the nicest people! Rooms are clean and a nice courtyard to hang out in. My boyfriend got in a bike accident and they took him to the clinic, and Gemma even drove us to Tanjung Aan beach after so we could still see some of the sights which was truly above and beyond. You won’t find a better place to sleep in Kuta with nicer people. 

Lovely Homestay

We ended the first night in Lombok because the other hotel was full, the problem with this place is the location that doesn't allow you to walk and the noise.

Nice staff but bad position.

A very nice place. A very nice couple that offers motorcycle and taxi rental services comfortably. Simple but clean room. Good breakfast. For dinner alone there are noodles but you can order any other food at home. DVD in the rooms with various movies. We'll repeat.
