This colonial-era Art Deco hotel, on the quiet rim of Gorontalo's bustling town centre, comes as a surprise.  Its tiled lobby greets you with a huge, sweeping circular staircase, overhung by a giant chandelier;  the first-floor landing resembles a ballroom, which it may once have been.  My bedroom was large, airy, spotless, with simple elegant furnishings (including an excellent bed) all in keeping.  My bathroom sometimes had hot water, and there were other aspects of the plumbing which evoked a less fastidious era long past.  Service at the Yulia is efficient (if sometimes in need of a prompt) and, like everyone in Gorontalo, very friendly. Out the front there's a rank of bentors (tuk-tuks) which will take you anywhere you want to go, within limits.  They clearly don't get many Westerners here (I seemed to be the only one in town during my stay), and I only encountered one staff member who spoke English, so communication could be a bit of a struggle sometimes if you haven't picked up a smattering of Indonesian, but - emphatically - it's worth it.  I stayed here longer than I intended, and I'd come back.

Never mind the plumbing, see the chandelier!

Do not expect 5-star hotel services, however, It served us well as a lodging for bed and breakfast for diving vacation. 

It is reasonable price with average service, and able to get to eating places, convenient shops within walking distance.

Worth for the price

This hotel was recomended to us, so i was very surprised with its poor quality.. the bed is clean, but rest is dirty.. walls, furniture, bathroom.. there is even no clean place to put the soap, or the towel!  ..room is smelling after smoking, shower is making weird noise while showering.. I've been at cleaner places for lower price!! Don't go here!

Disgusting - the worst place i've been at sulawesi

I personally like this hotel. It locates at downtown. Everything is in a walking distance. The room was clean enough and comfy, but the only problem I had during my staying was mosquitoes. I was glad that the hotel response rapidly to this problem by spraying mosquito repellent. Apart of it, everything was good.

Mosquito Problem

Hotel Yulia is one of the good location hotel in Gorontalo - Indonesia.
You can easily go to the famous Ayam Goreng in Gorontalo by foot.
Also you can get Roti Boy near by and Alun-alun Gorontalo if you want to have an exercise in the morning. If you want to go to the City, you can take Bentor (Becak Motor) who standby near the Hotel, but don't forget to ask the price first (near : Rp 10.000/bentor, far : Rp 20.000/bentor).
But for the hotel quality, to average.
The bedroom is oke, nice and clean, but the bathroom is poor (door hard to closed, the water is not smooth). They also don't have many breakfast menu.
But if you go for other occasion in Gorontalo solo or with your friends (like diving or hiking) this hotel is quite ok.

PS : WIfi only can be catch at the lobby, the signal is very poor if we connect in the room.
