Gili T was excellent. The dive shop and staff were wonderful.

Where to begin.. 

Just two young entousiastic people willing to get to know more about the underwater world. We wanted to do this right so we looked for a PADI certified diving school with good references. We quickly got in touch with Blue marlin Dive At Gili T(rawagan). We got in contact with them via e-mail, a quick and friendly response from Lauren helped us in the right direction. We got started with the E-learning during our first couple of weeks in Bali when we had the time, not fully finsihed but on schedule we started the practical training. 

There is a nice and busy atmosphere at the diving center and we got to meet our dive Instructor Grant Halsey. Entousiastic and charismatic but down to earth men who introduced us to our fellow students. Right a way we formed a group (4 people + Grant in total). 

PADI stands for a quality level so we had to meet with the standards, always with the help of Grant but fully involved we completed the first two days all the enclosed pool skills and went out from r our first open water dives, the first of many to come. 

As the course evolved, we did to. The passion for diving that you can smell in the air at Blue Marlin got to us, late on first day we finished the last theory and did the exam so we could link this during diving and could focus more on the practical parts.

Due to all the practical tips and tricks from Grant we went on 4 educative and mesmerizing dives to finally get open water diver certified, and we did! 

We canceled our trip to Nusa islands to maximize our time in the Gilis. We decided to start with the first two out of five dives for the advanced course. Again Grant was by our sides to educate and stimulate us. A fantastic deep- and night adventure dive was the perfect end of our first chapter of exploring the underwater world.

4 days of being humble, great full, inspired and many more feelings. 

Thanks to blue Marlin, the staff and especially Grant for being who they are. Keep doing what you'are doing and you'll never be forgotten

What an adventure! 

Sascha & I started our journey on the 1th of october! The goal was finishing thr PADI Open Water Diver course! What it became... was finishing our Open Water Dive, a Fun dive, a Deep Adventure Dive and the cherry on top of the cake: a Night Dive! Already the beginning to our Advance Course, that we will complete as soon as we can! 

Of course we couldn't have done this all without our fantastic instructor GRANT! Grant is only 30 years old and dives already 20 years!! With his tons of experience, he teached us a lot of the skills, tips and trics! This with all his patience and kindness. He gave us a safe feeling during the courses by giving us clear instructions and being so taughtful ! You can sing along with him the whole day, that's the only thing you need to deal with! 😅 It was a perfect example how it should be. We couldn't image it was going to be like this!  Always a big party on the boat, on our way to the next awesome driving spot at Gilis!

Also a BIG shout out to all the staf up there in the Blue Marlin! They're all so kind and helpfull before and during our stay. It's a peacefull and lovely place to be around! Good food, good sleep and good people. Nothing else that you need! And when you're in for a 'little' party, you can join them every monday! 🎉

I did my Open Water Course here and had a really good experience! Everyone was really kind.
Now I feels really safe to do my next dives and I’m looking forward to do the advanced course! I would like to do it at Blue Marlin Dive School aswell, but I don’t have enough time. I really can recommend this school. 
All my questions were answered in my 1 to 1 lessons!

We are a couple divers from Jakarta. We stayed and dove for 8 days. Everybody is friendly. Very relax atmosphere. Feel at home. We enjoyed so much our stay and dive with Blue Marlin Gili Trawangan. Our dive guide Adi is attentive and helpul. He is a very experienced guide. He also took many photo and video of me. Thank you Adi!.
I use sidemount configuration. Blue Marlin supported all what I needed.

The friendly and professional instructors and staff have a passion for diving that is contagious and make every effort to give you an easy and enjoyable diving experience. Over the course of 4 days, I not only got my Open Water Dive license but also saw incredible sea life at the same time. From reef sharks and lion fish to eels and rays, the waters around Gili T have so much underwater beauty to see! Passionate about conservation? Blue Marlin is too, and you may even be able to help out in an underwater trash pick-up!

Bit loud in my 1st room but paid extra for an upgrade on my last night. Much better. Party night Monday

Nice looking beach restaurant. You can choose piece of fish and staff will prepare it on grill. French fries and all you can eat salat table is included to price. Prices around 100k for meal. Wicked!!

Really nice place and lovely swimming pool. It is nice environment but 9am it is really noisy till 5pm. I really recommend the hotel only if you wake up early and enjoy the day time in gili T

I booked diving courses and accommodation with Blue Marlin in GT and it was perfect!

I dived with 3 different instructors throughout the week (Firman, Anne & Bax). All 3 were great. Knowledgeable dependable and looking after their students. Icing on top of the cake, there is always a fun and friendly vibe on the boat and at the center.

Completed 9 dives with very few repeated locations. They vary a lot the sites so you can be sure to easily find dives suitable for what you’re after.

Food is great. The menu is quite diverse and it is so convenient to have good food options on site when you have limited time between dives.

Rooms are great for the island and have all the convenience and comfort needed for a dive trip. As most guests are there for diving, I really appreciated the calmness in the evening and never had to struggle with loud music or groups.

Overall staff is very helpful. Booking and organizing was pretty seamless. Anna was very responsive and answered all pre-trip questions.

If in Gili T again I will definitely come back here! Thanks for the stay!

New Diving Adventure

Nice hotel, great food, amazing diving!

After spending 2 deafeningly quiet nights in Senggigi, we ditched the last night at our hotel and hopped over to Gili T.  I was nervous that our last-minute booking would have us in a broom closet facing the garbage dump, but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was adorable and the shower huge with fresh water from Lombok. There was a really cute pool that we, unfortunately, didn't get a chance to dip in.  I appreciated the cold bottle of water in the fridge as we immediately dumped off our stuff to head out to snorkel the underwater sculpture (along with half the island!).

When we got back, we sat down for an honest to goodness cocktail (Gili Island Tea kicks the Long Island in the junk).  Luckily, Taylor from the Blue Marlin Dive Shop was eating lunch and we peppered her a ton of expat questions. She sweetly let us steal her lunch hour and chatted with us until she needed to attend to group returning from a dive. At dinner, we ran into an American couple who were diving with Blue Marlin and absolutely raved about how great they were.  If we ever come back, we'll definitely dive with them.

Why Stay Anywhere Else?

We initially booked a room for 1 night at the Blue Marlin hotel. Since we had such a good experience, we asked for 2 extra nights. The rooms are impeccably clean and the service is just awesome. You could ask absolutely everything and the staff of the hotel and the instructors would always help you as best as they can.

My girlfriend had her birthday while we were staying there and the guys decorated our room while we were away. 

On that day we went on a dive with the blue marlin group. We felt welcome right away and the instructor's are very kind and helpful. The dive was amazing and we had a blast!

The breakfast's were great. We had a wide variety of possiblities.

So the experience was great overall and we'll cherish the memories for a long time.
