I stayed at Akalanka for a few nights in February. It’s in a great location right in the middle of Gili T - a 5 minute bike ride to the port and 10 minutes to either Turtle Point or the west coast for sunset. While the top floor was damaged from the storms, they renovated the bottom floor and the rooms are clean, comfortable and a great value. My room was slightly musty when I checked in, but after airing it out for a bit then running the AC, it was fine for the rest of my stay. The staff here is extremely friendly and helpful as well. You can rent a bike here for only 25k/day. I’d highly recommend staying at Akalanka for budget travelers looking for a clean and comfortable private room on a quiet street.

Excellent value

Akalanka was by far the best value for money I found on Gili T !
By Far ! The place seemed safe since it is family run and some family members were usually around. The rooms were very comfy with good aircon, fridge, even TV with some english news chanels. Breakfast was a choice of eggs or pancakes - always good and itbwas just so nice and clean. I would always come back !!!!

Perfect

Great for the price. We paid around £10 a night and our room and bathroom were a decent size. The bed was comfortable, fridge, breakfast and a terrace. The couple that run the place were extremely friendly and helpful, gave us a good price on bike rental and were happy to extend our stay an extra night. The shower was cold water but for a few nights on the gili t that was fine for us! 

Friendly staff, good for the price.

I wouldnt... terrible location. Wouldn’t eat there , they provide breakfast apparently, but I was looking for the owner the morning and saw the facilities, would not eat food coming out of there. Guy who welcomed us was helpful, shame, also not his fault the place is in a bad area.

Dec holiday

This is an amazing value-for-money place to stay. The family there is one of the kindest lot you will ever find, and they are ready to solve all your problems with utmost sincerity. The place is a 8-10 minutes away from the main harbor, if you walk.

The breakfast options are a bit limited, but the food is super tasty. Especially, go for the pancake infused with banana bits.

You should rent bicycles from here as they cost 30k INR per day, whereas it costs 50k INR if you take one from the harbor street.

We had a problem with our AC in one of our rooms. But they shifted us to another room where the AC was working. So, no lack of sincerity there!

Only downside with the property is it is very small, with 4 or 5 rooms. Construction works are going on for expansion, but by the looks of it, they are not going to be finished anytime soon. So, you better book early to get a chance to stay in of the best value-for-money homestays on the beautiful Gili T.

A very cozy stay at a neat and clean place with kind-hearted people

The owners are very kind and very available in everything, they helped to make our stay of 5 days really pleasant. The structure is new, has the upper floor under construction. You can rent bicycles at the facility at affordable prices to go around the island and also book trips with the boat at them. Breakfast is excellent: to choose between eggs, toast and pancakes as well as fruits and excellent juices. The location is ok, 5 minutes walk from the center in the interior, away from the noises of the seaside venues. The room and bathroom are very spacious, with TV and air conditioning.

Great solution 5 minutes from the centre

This hotel was a great disappointment to us. In fact, the hotel is clean considering the area of the island. It is a new establishment that looks new, but is poorly maintained or poorly built. It is a basic comfort! When we arrived, there were mud traces left on the bathroom walls. In addition, we had to order towels and toilet paper. There were several thousand feet in the room. Besides, the lunch service is very long and there is not enough food left for what was originally offered. Lastly, we never stayed on the island, but we did not find it to be a good price. During our trip, we had stayed in more beautiful, cheaper places.

A major disappointment

From the port, the accommodation is easily accessible on foot, you can walk with luggage in about 7 minutes. Very quiet location, no music etc. nearby, at most somewhere a tap a few streets away. All shops, discos, doctors, night market, Sunset Point are easily accessible on foot. Rooms are clean, everything works, bedding and towels smell fresh. Equipment with clean shower curtain (not really often found in Indonesia), flat screen, pantry and quiet air conditioning. Drinks are sold at supermarket prices. Wcheservice is billed very well per kilogram (20 IDR/kg) and is therefore cheaper than in many Laundry shops. Laundry washes are clean, fresh and smells fresh. There is also a freshly baked kitchen in the pool.

Affordable, clean, friendly, good location

We were here for 2 nights. Unfortunately, in the back room you can hear a generator or something like that, so even the doors vibrate. That's why it's a small disconnect, otherwise you can't say anything about the price (we paid 220,000idr). Bicycles for 40,000 are new, the owner is very friendly. Mosque is quiet to hear. Breakfast is okay.
