We have enjoyed an 11 night stay at this wonderful resort, travelling with our 2.5yo and 6mo children.

The Hotel is on the opposite side of the island to the port, on the western 'Sunset' coast. We took a horse and cart from the port which cost 150k and took around 15 minutes. It is around a 30-40 min walk to reach the main area near the port where it is busier with lots of restaurants, bars and shops. 
The immediate area around the hotel has plenty of food and drink options too. A 5-10 minute walk both left and right out of the hotel leads to various beachfront restaurants, bars and 2 mini marts. The road is a bit sandy and bumpy in places, but generally fine to push our stroller. Most people hire bicycles to get around. 

We stayed in a standard room which was very well maintained and clean. The bed was big and comfy, our 2yo slept in a small sofa bed by the window. The bathroom was massive with 2 sinks, powerful hot shower and wardrobe area. There are a few steps up and down to get to the rooms further back, so book pool view if you have walking difficulties. That said, the hotel staff we so kind is helping us up and down the stairs with our double stroller as we moved to and from the room.

Breakfast is good with lots of food options. The staff will make fruit shakes, eggs and pancakes/crepes/waffles to order. They had good clean high chairs for kids. 

The lobby area has free ice tea, a water machine (hot and cold) and free snacks 24/7. There is a lobby lounge area which is cool and nice to sit and relax, read, or eat some food as we did a couple of times. 

The beach area is beautiful. Immediately there is a reef area that is shallow before reaching the ocean. Breakfast was on the beach at the restaurant. You can also get food and drinks around the pool, everything we had was good quality and reasonable price, E.g. appetisers from 35k, pizzas 100k, milkshakes 40k.
The free cinema on the beach each night is fantastic. People come from all over the island so it does get busy. A kids film is on first at 7.30pm, followed by an adult film at 9pm. Lots of new releases as well as some classics. Fresh popcorn was delicious and cost 20k... salted and sweet available!

The hotel staff are amazing. Constantly maintaining the rooms, grounds and common areas to a high standard. Carles was so kind and lovely to our children.

The pool area is large and in 3 sections... an infinity pool, large pool with swim up bar and smaller kids pool. It is saltwater and not too cool. The playground was amazing, better than in some parks in the UK! Again well maintained, safe and kept very clean.

We would definitely stay here again in the future. Thank you Aston Sunset.  

Fantastic family escape

Nice stay, yet overpriced on the set compared to other places. (Drinks, food etc.)Food was really not that good, but staff and hotel was nice.

Hibra was the best server, very lovely and happy. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. The free movie was great too and a fun thing to do on a nice warm evening. Would come back in a heartbeat!  

Outdoor cinema 

My wife and I spent three nights in a villa, and we were delighted, we had the room prepared and decorated because we were on our honeymoon. We had a spectacular romantic dinner, both the food and the treatment received. The super friendly and super attentive staff, I hope we could repeat more often, it was a pleasure to pass by there, thank you team!

A honeymoon trip

Very satisfied with all the hotel facilities & services, the room and atmosphere of the hotel are quite attractive, the service is very friendly, starting from breakfast and lunch. Thank you also to the sultan who always helps me. He is a friendly employee and is always helpful when we need something. Aston is the best hotel in the world thanks to its very friendly staff

Amazing place in the wolrd

We came here for dinner on the last night which coincided with a movie night they were hosting. 
They serve Indian food which was ok but limited veg options and a bit bland to taste. That said, they were showing a very new and popular movie and the atmosphere was so relaxing. They had a bean bag area or you could sit on the tables to watch. You could also order popcorn if you wanted.

Great hotel, good service, nice beachfront, rooms always clean and tidy. Food was always good. Breakfast is on the beach and it was very good. There is free water and snacks in the hotel. WiFi could be a little better, but you can also spend your time wonderfully without a cell phone.

Perfect Rest

We had a wonderful relaxing trip.  We loved using the bicycles and pool daily.  Adi, Bellboy working in the reception area is a true asset to Aston Sunset.  Adi is always very cheerful and provides exceptional customer service.  Adi will even gladly teach you a few words of Indonesian. 
  I cannot say enough about the gourmet breakfast buffet on the beach - my favorites were the Indonesian food and fresh blended watermelon juice.  Rooms were very clean.   The Wifi sometimes fades in and out, our room, unfortunately.  The AC and refrigerator worked very well.

Beautiful Sunsets, Wonderful Stay

The hotel is aging, and the rooms are not sufficiently equipped: no hairdryer, empty minibar, few and poor quality toiletries, hole-in-the-dust mat, pool closed at night for maintenance, very expensive alcohol consumption, insufficient number of trades, We tried to request a room with private swimming pool in place of the room we had. We were asked for a very high, unjustified price. In short, we were very disappointed by this hotel...

Hotel ageing, and the rooms are not up to the minimum benefits for a four star hotel

The hotel is 10 minutes from the harbour by carriage or by bicycle a 15min walking quietly.The structure is well laid out with swimming pools, private beach and even an open cinema while the rooms (as far as mine is concerned) were very clean, orderly and spacious!
