Villa Rika

First of all, this is not my first time travelling to Gili. The common issue in the island is hot water and cleanliness of the accommodation. Also, if you are travelling to Gili for the first time, it can be overwhelming with the amount of travelling and planning. With that being said, the villa is about 15 to 20 mins walk from the harbour, depends on how fast you walk. So if you have many suitcases or travelling with big suitcase, please manage your expectations. You can find it from the map, which makes it so much easier. When you arrive at the villa, we were greeted with a very warm welcome from the owner himself, Jeorge, and Sara. They serve us cold water to wash down the overwhelming experience from the boat and heat from walking. All the tiredness gone away the moment we sat down. Check in experience was nothing less than perfect. He explained the island and gave us many recommendations, which were all amazing. He also let us know the fair prices of the activities in the island so you wont be overcharged by the organisers. I strongly recommend to follow his recommendations unless you have things planned yourself. The room was comfortable. There were 3 of us, w booked 1 queen bed and 1 single bed. Room is spacious for all our items. Very safe surroundings but of course always becareful. The location itself was in front of the turtle swimming spot. Plenty of places offers bicycle and snorkling trips. If you walk for 3 minutes from the villa towards the beach, on your right hand side you will find a small dodgy looking booth. We book private snorkeling from them, expected nothing. But we ended up had the best experience we can ever asked for. My friend doesnt know how to swim, was looked after her very well throughout the snorkeling experience. No negotiation needed, they offer very fair rate. Dont judge a book by its cover. Overall, I honestly think our stay was that much better because of Jeorge and Sara. Thanks for looking after me and my friends!
