I stayed at this place for a month and I had great time here. I immediately loved the room with the jungle view, where I felt like living right in the nature. I used to do my yoga practice here every morning. Sometimes it was hot so I moved to the garden by the swimming pool. I used the swimming pool quite often and at night we liked to watch the frogs jumping in. The family running the guest house is amazing. Yes, they have dogs but they are harmless. They are just protecting their family and setting their borders, so you do not have to be afraid of them, just respect them. I was greeting the family every day and with some I became friends. Sometimes you can smell the pigs, but for me it is part of the village life and living in nature and as far as I know the smell of the pigs never killed anyone, but smog in the cities kills every day. The place has amazing view (for which you will pay in Ubud double) And as a solo woman traveler I felt here very safe (everyone who enters the guest house must walk throught the family house so I felt protected). It is quite and peacefull. Above all I had a great experience with the family (especially Made) regarding the support to animals in need. One day very sick cat came to my porch. I volunteer in different animal shelters, so I knew how to help. The cat was healed in three weeks, but I was worried what will happen when I leave. I was in touch with all animal shelters in Ubud but they were full and I knew that it is common practice at Bali to kill animals in hotels and around hotel. But Made and his family have a big heart and decided to keep him!!!He can stay in the guest house and now he is there. Above all Made drove me every time to Villa Kity (shelter for cats) to see the vet for free as he also wanted to help. The rescued cats name is Laurence and I built for him a small house in the dining area. He was scared of people and very hurt (he was hissing at me at first but needed help so we became friends soon)and now he is becoming more friendly and trusting people again. I wish every hotel would behave like this. So, please while staying at this place, be kind to him and support him with food or little cuddles. if you will stay longer he will be very good friend for you as he was lying on my yoga mat when I was exercising or sitting next to me every night while I was studying and writing. The family is renting scooters, so you can be in Ubud in ten minutes (I drove to Ubud every day). Also there is 5 minutes walking from here great Munivara ashram where you can get kundalini yoga classes for 35 ths RPS (and OHM Ham retreat center where you can get all spa treatments and yoga with the guru Ketut Arsana ). I was there almost every day. I higly recommend this place to yogis, animal lovers, writers, solo travelers and warm hearted people. The price is great for the value. If you are looking for a party or city life, find some place in Ubud or Kuta as this is not for you. The stuff will clean the room when you ask them and also change the towels when you need. I felt like the place is clean enough considering you are living next to forest. When you come here you support real Balinese family and their animals. My friend who came to see me also extended her stay for one more week as she loved it also.
