Balai Melayu Hotel

Balai Melayu is by no means an ordinary place. It is unique and I personally love it. The rooms are clean. They only have 7 available, so you can imagine the level of personalized service we have received during our stay there (3 nights). The only unfortunate thing about the place was that it is situated very close to the street, so during the day when the street is busy the sound from the passing vehicles can be quite annoying for some. However, during night time it was peaceful. The one aspect we love the most was the staff, they were friendly and helpful and will not think twice to extend extra miles services such as, buying food from outside/nearby restaurant when we crave for something different. They even would suggest what to get or local specialties. All in all, it was a very very nice experience for us, and we certainly would go back for our next trip to Yogyakarta.
