It is very difficult to find a villa in Canggu for under $200 USD a night and to find one in this location even harder (trust me, I looked). This place is a bargain. Yes, they do have a bit of water damage in some of the rooms - the place is not brand new and anywhere I've stayed has problems especially during the rainy season...welcome to the tropics. But the villa is immaculately clean and taken care of. I loved the upstairs bedroom with windows on both sides overlooking the rice fields. Did not hear "animals living in the roof" as the precious reviewer claimed but if so, oh well, again you're in the tropics. If you open the doors and windows it is wonderfully breezy - it's called cross ventilation people. I was only hot in the middle of the day so I went in the pool or took a nap in the air conditioning. No mozzies bothered me in the evening even with the doors wide open. The booking agency is out of the country so it can take some time to communicate, but they were perfectly friendly especially Sanne. On site Raty and the cleaning crew were delightful. Long story short, if you want perfection, go stay at the Four Seasons in Jimbaron or Ubud and pay $700 a night or rent a private villa with a butler for $500 a night. If you want a perfectly nice villa with 3 bedrooms and a lovely pool within walking distance to all the restaurants and the beach for a good price, try here.
