Pinisi Hostel

I CAN'T FIND ANYTHING TO FAULT from my experience of staying at the new Pinisi hostel for 2 nights - I felt like a 'flashpacker' staying here - a wonderful, traditional free breakfast cooked for me, hot showers, secure lockers, free postal service, indoor garden, extremely FRIENDLY n HELPFUL staff who would print off city-information for me and answer lots of questions, a peaceful atmosphere, free hot drinks......the list goes on. I really, really recommend this place. (and plus, it was always easy to access angkots from across the road from the hostel, and just convenient enough to walk to the central train station.)

I went to Pinisi Hostel for the second time. The building had some renovation downstairs, but only at the downstairs. Pinisi Hostel which is on the 4th floor still good and have many plants there which made the area really fresh. I stayed for 3 nights with some other guests on the room. The breakfast still the same, which are noodle and cereal, and you are given a map if you just don't know where to go in Bandung.

I also get the information that Pinisi Hostel already launched another hostel in Bandung. On the new place the breakfast will not be noodle and cereal, but full breakfast with different menu for another day. 

Back to where I stayed, the employees are really friendly and helpful, and I really love the massage they offered on the same floor with the hostel.

The only good thing about the hostel is its location. It's around 15 walk from train station, easily catch an anggot (public mini bus), accessible to many cafe and restaurants. We were staying at a four bed dorm. If you are traveling with friend, with two person paying, you can actually get a much much better option. It's good for a sole traveler. The room was quite simple, neat but not too much to expect. Especially the bathroom, the water flow is just too weak. The staffs are friendly though. 

There are some better options 

Stayed last week here for 3nights. It was a pleasant stay.

We had water shortage for 1 night until the next afternoon which is my worst nightmare.... luckily I went creative by showering with my drinking bottled water (what a waste).

The bed is rocky but comfy. Needs plugs in one of the bunkers cause i had to bent and reach to the other bunkers just to charge my phone.

At night the hostel is pretty silent. Receptionist is only until 8pm. And no one is guarding. Security needs improvement here. Even though Ive been informed there is someone guarding downstairs.

But I love the spa and massage. Really cheap compared to where I came from. I got full body and scrub at the Pinisi spa at a price in my city only settled for a foot massage. (Shaking my head)

The staffs are friendly and helpful. 

Love the location near the factory outlets to do shopping, near street food and near to a convenient store (not 24hours). 

Do bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. U might experience sleepless night with guests who snored. I must apologise to the other guests who had to go through it. (Hahahah)

Next to a very delicious restaurant that serve indonesian food. Plus acoustic bands. How wonderful.

Needs Improvement

I cant understand all the "good reviews". That hostel was one of the badest hostel ever! It was dirty...really dirty. They dont clean the rooms at all. The bathroom was disgusting. It was loud... very loud. There are a lot planes flying direct over the hostel daily. The staff smoke downstairs so it smells really ugly. They cant speak English that well so it was hard to communicate. We had dirty beds, dirty carpet under the sink. There where a lot of hair from other guests. The sink was also dirty..ahhh..yeah..and the dorm beds where really broken at some points..so its not that safe. 

Breakfast: 2 Slides of toast with scrambled egg or jam. There is free coffee and tea. But yeah...nothing special.

We ask for a driver to bring us to some places. He wanted 800k for 4 people..only to bring us to some point 10 km from the hostel...we ask for 500k and it was okay for him. We wanted to meet in the morning at 9.am. but the driver did not arrived...after 11.30. a.m. we canceled the tour and walked by our own!

We travel since a loooong time and often sleep in hostels, but we would NEVER EVER recommend that one. Take the "Garden Hostel in Bandung" That was really good! But Pinisi is honestly a shame & unreasonable!!!!
