The Watergarden

Back again in our favourite Hotel in Candi Dasa, each visit we stay a little longer and it's harder to leave each visit. This is our 4th stay at The Watergarden and we had a wonderful stay. I was here in March 2025 for Nyepi on a solo trip and stayed in a Deluxe Villa, so clean and reasonably priced. The Watergardens directly in front of my veranda were just the perfect place to relax, read a book, watch the fish swimming by and enjoy nature in a magnificent established tropical garden. Our June 2025 stay we booked the Kul Kul Suite which is the private pool villa with 2 beautiful stand alone A/C bungalows set within its own garden complete with Waterfall and fishponds. The pool was beautifully clean and water temperature was perfect for refreshing dips and swims. We enjoyed wonderful, caring service from the Manager and all staff. Travelling with my 93 year old mum was easy as the staff supported us with room service and anything else we needed. (We even had the wonderful surprise of a local dance troupe do a private performance at our Villa, an absolute highlight!) Please note there are also hand rails on each of the pools for easy access. Not once did we get sick and we all ate there 3 meals a day from the extensive menu. Mum unfortunately became ill with a chest infection which cut our wonderful stay short but what a marvellous place for her to recuperate. There is a large main pool (depth 1 to 2 metres) which is breathtakingly beautiful set within the gardens. The panorama around the pool is so beautiful and reminiscent of the 'Old Bali' that everyone is seeking to find. The Watergarden embodies the best of both Worlds. The restaurant is spacious and situated within the Hotel near the main road, great to watch the World pass by. The Bungalows up on the higher levels of the Hotel have a beautiful cool breeze and glimpses of the Ocean. It is a stones throw across the road to the beach. The Watergardens and fishponds are legendary, so many varieties of birdlife, butterflies and a healthy Eco System. There is a mini mart next door to purchase snacks, drinks or essentials, there is a 24hr Doctors clinic, chemist, money changer and you are very central to all that Candi Dasa offers. Should you wish to learn scuba diving that also is easily organised. Candi Dasa has so much to offer and is a firm favourite of mine. Highly recommend this property.
