We stayed here with our family. The lobby is ok but the rest of the building is outdated and should be renovated. 
Rooms are large but furniture is old, some smell rather musty. The sheets are clean. The bathroom is not clean and very much in need if renovation. 
The breakfast is minimal. The area where you can have drinks and breakfast smells of smoke, in the evening and at night people smoke here.
The location in the centre of Ambon is good.
Hotel staff is very friendly, not all speak english.

The female staff are nice and friendly. That's it!

Upon arrival at the hotel the man at reception took me up to room 410 which was a disgusting room with 2 single beds with stained bed linen. He said this was a suite and then left the room. I looked at the bathroom and saw that the toilet seat was covered in some sort of grime, the sink tap had come away from the sink and there was a gaping hole in the top of the wall which would allow mosquitoes in. I went down to reception to complain, stating that I had booked a suite and not this room. They showed me to room 505 which was the junior suite that I had booked and it was miles better. However, the noise from the street is horrendous: motorbikes roaring down the street and vehicles beep-beeping all day long and into the early hours. I didn't like this hotel and I hated Ambon. The best thing to do here is to get the heck out and take a boat to the Banda Islands. Better still, don't come here at all. I made a mistake travelling here.

I stayed in amboina hotel during my business trip in ambon. I've been booked a deluxe room by college friend. This hotel has very very minimalist design in the receptionist desk and restaurant. amboina hotel has only 1 old lift and just enough for max 3 people. 

The room is spacious but not clean. you can find dust and ant in the the room so please carefully to put your food or drink. There's no mini bar. for WIFI, you can't connect it even tought it's available and the receptionist gave you a password to login.

However, the hotel location is strategic. It's near mini market, ikan bakar restaurant, Lapangan Merdeka, Mardika Market and oleh-oleh Shop (Cahaya Liembers). 

Good Location, Poor Facilities

Location location location, super love the location. very central, walking distance to most of recommended restaurant and coffee place. 

we stayed for 3 nights and super happy with the decision. stroll to Kopi Joas & Kopi Sibu - sibu during night time. very recommended coffee place.

Superb Location

location is very central, within walking distance to every recomended restaurant & coffeshops in town.
we enjoy our 3nights stay while venturing to our dinner place followed by coffee.

Nearby restaurant: Sari Gurih, New Ratu Gurih (my fave), barcelona, chili padi.

Famous coffeshops: kopi Joas (closed at 8pm) and kopi sibu-sibu.
