I booked this stay using hotels.com and got a confirmation number. When I had to call this particular property to let them know that I was running late and wanted to make sure that the room is still held by the time I went, the customer service automated response system asked for confirmation number. The number I got from hotels.com is different from what they expect and hence I had to send a person to make sure that the room is held.This kind of an experience which disabled people to reach the front office of the hotel is painful. Why not directly route my call to the particular branch or have an option that directly connects me to a customer service agent for cases like these?
