We booked 3 Rooms in houseboat for our entire trip of 4 night / 5 days. When we checked-in on first day we were surprised. The rooms were too good with Air conditioning (Hot & Cold). The washroom were given a modern look with all the amenities. Rooms were neat & Clean and so is the washroom. The food they served hot 🍲 & delicious. It tasted so delicious. We are very Thankful to host Mr. Tahoor & Mr. Fayaz for their such beautiful hospitality. They were so cooperative during the entire stay  they managed everything so 🥰. 

Definitely if we plan again, we would stay at Mandalay Houseboats. Stay in this houseboat is really a charm ✨️ 😌.

Our stay was excellent. We enjoyed a lot in Mandalay houseboats food was so delicious 😋.  We had shikara ride on dallake that was also good. It is a peaceful place to stay. We all enjoyed and wish to visit this place again in future. We recommend you to stay at Mandalay Houseboats.

Houseboat is well maintained. With beautiful interior decor. Food is so delicious. Host is very much cooperative. If you are staying dallake this houseboat is highly recommended. Worth of money. With all the amenities. Rooms are well decorated 

Best houseboat to stay in dallake with best host loved it. You should give a visit to this place. Good  interior and furnishing. We stayed here and felt like in our own home. We got so much respect from the host that we can't forget.

Staying on a boat admist the most beautiful landscapes in the world, in the centre of the lake is an experience difficult to be described in words.The Mandalay Houseboats is situated on the dal lake, a beautiful houseboat hand carved from cedar with stylish furniture made of walnut and attached bathrooms with all the modern fittings.The boat had some lovely traditional kashmiri wooden latticework.  They houseboat is like a floating hotel in the lake and staying on one, actually gives you the opportunity to feel the serene and calm of dal lake and the beautiful landscape surrounding it, alongwith the modern amenities one is used to in todays life. they have a lobby and a well furnished dining room and the staff goes out of the way to make you comfortable and attend to your needs.The rooms are spacious, Good food. We ended up staying over a week and loved every minute.There were days when we just stayed on the comfortable boat and the houseboy served us steaming cups of tea (sometimes english tea and at other times kashmiri tea - flavored with cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger) on the balcony. We watched exquisite sunsets and were served delicious meals in the elegant dining room. 
There was nothing we didn't like, but it was hard to leave at the end of our restful time.

We had horrible experience in this Houseboat. Being pure vegetarian, clear cut instructions were given but we were served with chicken in matar paneer. The rooms in one house boat was pathetic with lot of cobwebs and no cleaning. Flush was not working. This is how we were greeted by cross land travels who booked the package of 5 nights. After complaining they changed the houseboat which was acceptable one however the food quality remained poor.
Without our knowledge they changed our itinery. To add to the misery, instead of hotel, they booked a guest house hut at remotest location in pahalgam which was in dilapidated condition. Ultimately we had to cancel the package midway. 
I would recommend not to book any thing through crossland travel. They are the worst and most unreliable.

i booked through make my trip.......very bad experience,....i will never recommend make my trip and valley houseboat...Name of houseboat was Mandalay Houseboat......pics mein dikhaya kuch aur .....waha aisa kuch bhi nai tha......i m posting pics of valley group of houseboat, srinagar......even pinky from make my trip frauds me....she promised me to change my houseboat but no response at all....i called from srinagar but she frauds me.....some pics of 3 star valley houseboat recommended by make my trip....

Make my trip ruins my srinagar tour......i will never opt make my trip.....

"Terrible experience in Valley Group Of  Mandalay Houseboat"

Staying at a houseboat on dal lake might well be on the things you would want to do having seen so many of them featured in movies, but believe me not only was it disappointing, it was a terrible experience.

The rooms at the houseboats have a very funny smell and the beds, not the cleanest, while the bathrooms, they were down right disgusting.

Not a place you would want to stay with your family even if you are used to roughing it while hiking or trekking.

I would suggest stay a extra day in a hotel and go for a boat ride on dal lake, but avoid the houseboats.

If you want to stay in one, then while you are taking a boat ride check a few of the houseboats on the first day of the tour and see if you like the houseboats. Our houseboat was selected by our tour guide and he says this is one of the best. I really doubt that and if that is the case then this is not a staying option for anyone.

I must say there are some house boats which are bigger and better looking & people say they are better but you need to find this out.

The view from our house boat was okay, with the view of the main street opposite the dal lake, but there are other houseboats which are located inside the dal lake with a better view.

Food - If you want eat food from a near by hotel, just inform the house boat manager and they will have one of his guys take the residential boat and get the food or take you along with him and get the food back, that is what we did, went and bought our food ourselves. Did not want to make our experience even worse.

Also during ramzan they don't make any food in the house boat, except breakfast but you need to have this checked, if you are travelling during that time.

Breakfast was as usual, toast and eggs as requested, we played it safe and asked for boiled eggs, there is little one can do to mess that up :)

Lastly when you stay at the house boats the owner of the house bat can arrange for a shopping experience on board so when you take a boat ride on the dal lake you can ask the merchants trying to sell you stuff to come to your house boat at a designated time, and you may enjoy the boat ride. Well it is a nice experience having people sell you stuff while you are on the boat but it can get irritating and they come continuously.

We were happy we stayed for just one day, we left early next morning and this is one place i am sure i will not recommend to my enemy as well.

Do not stay at the houseboats

Worst experience ever not responding for any refreshments irresponsible behaviour limited food served no good hospitality only work for there earnings not for your convenience need to complain the booking staff then they will work on it
