Excellent Food and Service. Hotel is just beside to the Mountain River and entire Surrounding with Wild Forest. Hotel is Under CCTV with full of Secure for Guest. The Manager and Team is Superb . Over all we enjoyed our Stay with Family. This Hotel and location is perfect for Family friends couples Student groups a perfect destination.

This is my second visit to this destination with a long gap of sixteen years in between. This place has remained the same in terms of serenity with remarkable improvement in road connectivity and other amenities. We spent two days in peaceful and cosy environment of Hotel Sovraj, Srikhola and really enjoyed the cordial behaviour of the host, Mr. Sengupta and his family.

I spent two nights there, camping in the garden. Got very useful tips about hiking nearby and enjoyed time spent with the owner, he is a nice person. Good place to have some quiet time with family and enjoy nature. Food was very good too.

Few tourists don't understand the value of their own and their loving ones and the value of the beautiful nature where they came to visit and they write unnecessary stupid reviews to give witness that they are worthless people of this world because they don't understand the value of the safety present days.
Although Shubhashish and his family take care of their guests in their homestay come hotel at Hotel Shovraj Sirikhola as their own family members and trying to help their guests in every angle including their safety and security to make their valuable visit more enjoyable with safety. 
Trespassing is a crime and criminals always ready to do anything to fulfil their motive so if there is a board out side the property in the middle of the jungle where no one come to protect Sengupta family and their borders except the owner Shubhashish and his family with their licenced weapons and they can take any steps to protect themselves and their hotel guests, so there is nothing wrong to give warning to the criminals in advance to display this "No Trespassing" board and the boarders of Hotel Shovraj must proud for it. 
Another thing Hotel Shovraj is a totally wooden five stories hotel construction and careless smoking is very much dangerous in this property and if its happen unfortunately entire property, all guests, owners family and the particular smoker will burn and vanish and that's why the board says "any body smoke in this property will be vanish" and its very much true it will happen if anyone smoke carelessly and that's why Shubhashish try to stop them in advance by his board but for the smokers he made a totally separate river view seating which is very much generous from his side. Who doesn't understand the meaning of this words mentioning in this boards and write bad reviews intentionally I think they are really careless people who are not eligible to get entry in this beautiful property.
Some bad people will be there as usual to spoil the nature and name but don't worry positive people will give positive feedback.

I visited at shovraj, sirikhola on 20th November this year and once again the sengupta family proved they are the best at there service.
This was my 3rd visit here in last 4 years.
A well maintained family run hotel with all the necessary amenities.
Our safety is there first priority as its a very standalone property away from all the crowds, they take our safety very seriously.
Some very fiery lines are written on the fence to protect us from trespassers.
I will surely meet you mr sengupta in my next visit.

I have never ever seen this type of view from this hotel.Acomodation is good,river is very near to this homestay,weather is fantastic,owner of this property is very humble and cooperative.you have to visit this hotel for life time experience.

Peace and calmness of the mountains are the gems of this location.
We enjoyed every minute in hotel shovraj with the natural view and great stories to remember for ever.
The river the greenery the food the night sky cannot be forgotten. There are so many rare unique birds can be seen around. Please visit the place to get yourself a good relaxing spot.
We will visit again and again ❤️❤️❤️. For the security we can trust Subhashis da they have motion sensors everywhere. We all have bad memories in our lives this is the place to pull yourself together and get ready for the battle of life again.

We are really surprised when we arrived at this hotel with our own small car when we saw what a beautiful location of this Hotel Shovraj property is and we saw other tourist from far homestays they're coming here and looking from outside the boundary fence and taking pictures of the property but they are not allowed to go inside and when we go inside the property after showing our booking confirmation and our IDs at that time we saw a board beside the property entrance where written "No Trespassing" and a gun picture and written below "violators will be shot , survivors will be shot again" it's just wow and couldn't believe ourselves how secure place we book for our tour, we saw surveillance CCTV every angle of this property to secure us and their other guests. In main entrance there is also written "No Alcohol Beyond This Point" and  "You are entering a No Smoking Zone". Now everything is clear to us why some stupid people give bad review to this hotel, they are jealous because they are not able to go inside because they are not this hotel guest or they are alcoholic or smokers and not able to do whatever they want inside the hotel property or open areas. I write this review because people should know what is right and why they must book this hotel. This is a most secure property in Darjeeling district where administration people and most valuable people come to stay, like SP Darjeeling district, Election Observer, Celebrities and foreign guests. Hotel has Direct login with DIB(District Investigation Bureau) and deliver all guests information immediately after their check in. We really surprised to see how the owner Mr. Sen Gupta maintain everything perfectly which terms and conditions he send to us before giving accommodation booking in his property.
Owner and his family is only people who maintain everything and give service to their guests, even Mrs. Sen Gupta Cook food for hotel guests, no other people working here except Sengupta family. They are communicated each other with walkie-talkies for faster service which unbelievable.
They give respect each and every guests like a family members and we never feel we far from home. 
The hotel looks like a dream house and river view attach bath wooden no smoking rooms are very much comfortable with all standard facilities. Free car parking for guests, Free WiFi with 4G network every part of the property, Commercial Electricity and Power Back up by Generator and specialy delicious Bengali food makes us force to write this review what is Hotel Shovraj, it's not a hotel, it's a sweet home of Mr and Mrs Sengupta and their two kids where no one allow to overtake their accommodation terms and conditions in any reason if anyone come to stay in their property.
One more thing surprised us when we know Mr. Sengupta is a International Private Investigator by profession officialy and the name of the hotel belong to his son's name. It's Exceptional.

Sengupta’s Hotel Shovraj is not only a hotel, its a Heart of the Singalila Himalayan Mountain at Srikhola and the best location property in Darjeeling District built and owned by Mr. Sengupta and his family since 2002. Better to call it a perfect Homestay or a beautiful Mountain Hut in peace of Himalayan Mountain with all standard facilities. Hotel Shovraj have all attatch bath wooden rooms and best food service. It has a beautiful river view seating lawn with umbrellas, well protected and fenced property, car parking area, bonfire and barbecue at evening, mini library, variety shop, Indian and Chinese menu restaurant, 24hrs running water, supply electricity and also power backup, natural swimming pool at River Sirikhola just beside the hotel, etc but the main thing is the hospitality of the owner Mr. Sengupta and his family which makes your tour more memorable and meaningful.

Hotel Shovraj is a bonafide Licensee Youth Hostel of Youth Hostel Association Of India and affiliated to International Youth Hostel Federation and also known as Youth Hostel Sirikhola. 

HOTEL SHOVRAJ has two double bedded wooden rooms, two triple bedded wooden rooms, one four bedded wooden room, one six bedded wooden room and a ten bedded wooden room, and all rooms are attach bath facilities. Altogether Hotel Shovraj have 30 heads accommodation.
Hotel Shovraj take Food with Lodging (AP) accommodation bookings only and they charge very reasonable price on per day per head basis and serve delicious food.

Here is some other information:
Hotel Shovraj - Sirikhola is not in proper Darjeeling Town, it is 90km from Darjeeling Town and situated North West of Darjeeling District. It takes 3.5 hrs drive by car from Darjeeling main town and the hotel or Mr Sengupta’s Mountain hut situated at the middle of Singalila National Park beside River Siri Khola and PWD road. You find share and reserved car from Darjeeling to Sirikhola at Morning and day time(need to book seats in advance) 
From Siliguri to Srikhola is 134km and 5 hours drive through Mirik, Sukhiapokhri, Manebhanjang, Dhotre and Rimbick and you can come by Share car from Siliguri (Darjeeling More near Tenzing Norgey Statue) at 10:30 am to 11:30 am only (need to book in advance). 
If you want to come at Sirikhola from Njp railway station and Bagdogra(IXB) Airport you must take reserved car in advance otherwise unknown drivers make your travel hazard and take long time for travel, normally it takes only 6hrs and almost 145km both from Njp and Bagdogra. 

For bonfire arrangements and barbecue chicken at hotel you need to confirm it in advance but they don't sale any alcohol. 

Mr Sengupta arrange whole day jungle safari - Jarayo Pokhri Lake, Neh veer Cave, Rimbick Forest kothi and Rammam Hydel project by four wheel drive jeep for the guest who are interested. 

You can see and enjoy Troute fish in river Sirikhola but it is strictly prohibited to catch those fishes by wild life protection act. 

Hotel Shovraj is only DIC, GST, FSSAI registered commercial hotel property at Srikhola in Darjeeling district and have great reputation since 2003. 

Why Sirikhola? If you think to spend your valuable holidays in peace and nature with mountain river, birds, butterflies, greenery, barking dear, redpandas, flying squirrel, rhododendron flowers, big cardamom garden, pine forest, small mountain villages, hanging wooden bridge then Sirikhola is the best tourist place for Indian and foreign guests and obviously Hotel Shovraj is the best location property and comfortable place where you want to stay. 

It's a best place to spend your valuable holidays in India.

Best Hotel with Excellent Nature and River View

Hotel Shovraj was a relief for us after a gruelling trek in Sandakphu-Phalut route . We came down after 5 hours of trek from Gorkhey and on the bridge over Srikhola river , we took time to decide where to stay overnight before we catch a car towards Darjeeling . After some deliberation we walked down crossing the bridge towards Hotel Shovraj . After knocking owner Mr Sengupta came out and we checked in .
It has outstanding location almost on the river , a comfy bed listening the water all night was a splendid experience for me and my kids . 
Lunch was served , good food , in the evening we were served Bengali delicacy Beguni and muri  followed by chicken dinner . Al good . 
They don’t have geyser in the toilet but hot water buckets had been given which was sufficient for us . Electric kettle was very useful in the room to make small volume of hot water or to make tea or coffee . 
Next morning , we took breakfast and checked out . Lots of adda with Mr Sengupta , we along with my kids enjoyed the chat with him . Very cordial  and knowledgeable. 
One point of improvement could be that he portion of breakfast . It was bit thin , in the hills we need good filling breakfast to get ready for the day . Here along with bread , butter , I would suggest one Indian item like Puri or Parota would be good . And of course an omelette has to be with two eggs . 😀
A very good stay , I like to thank Mr Sengupta , my suggestion would be take the room closer to the river banks . Mr Sengupta’s son took good care of us . I wish them all the luck

Great Hospitality, Best Location, Highest Facility Hotel come Homestay in Darjeeling District at Sirikhola. 

We came for birding in Singalila National Park this time - no trek - only Birds and Videos was the target. First destination was Dhotrey and me and my friend stayed at Padma Homestay for 2 nights .... It was like spine chilling cold @8500 ft in Jan End. In Night - it was Sub Zero and we got snows in the morning. Birding was very good - got some lifers - like Maroon backed accentor, Black throated parrotbill and got some good shots of Black faced laughingthrush, Chestnut crowned LT and others. Next 2 days we planned for Srikhola. We came at Shovraj by 1 PM and the first impression was WOW. We stayed here for two nights and we enjoyed each n every moments. Food was awesome, hospitality was wonderful. The stay was very comfortable - rooms were big - through the window - all time one can enjoy the turbulent flow of Siri River .... Just Amazing...The nature was so beautiful and peaceful around our hotel. Birding was good near to Sepi village - lots of greenaries we found there and saw - Bluetail, Scaly laughingthrush, Straited laughingthrush and many more small birds.

Will come back again in different time..
