Hotel Sun View Gangtok

I remember it like it was yesterday. We had just travelled 6 hours continuously in rain. My kids were tired and all they wanted was a nice warm bed. We arrived at the hotel thinking that our travel agent from amazing trips booked us a room. Turns out he didn't. We were waiting in the lobby of the hotel when we came across sun view. It was a decently sized hotel in the pictures but at that point all we wanted was a rest. Little did we know it was a little Paradise in itself. I can safely say that hospitality starts with that middle aged man running the hotel, Mr. Subodh. We were hungry as we hadn't eaten for more than half a day. It was late night and the restaurant was closed but the staff cooked us a late night meal that can only be compared to that from a restaurant with 5 michelin stars, for at that time we were more than happy to have a few grains of rice in our stomach. We were awakened to a beautiful view of the valley from our room window. We had a very delicious breakfast made very fresh, kids just loved the hotel, the team and their hospitality. Mr Subodh took personal attention to every guest, and offered to help us in case we have any further issues in our trip. He gave us lot of information about the next places that we had planned to visit, it was really helpful for us. We were recharged completely for our journey after staying for a day at Sunview. We are very grateful to Mr Subodh and his entire team for giving us a warmth and homely feeling for our very first tour from South to North. All the best Mr Subodh, and we look forward to stay again at your place in the future. I would recommend this hotel to anyone planning to stay at Gangtok, and who are looking for a budget stay,but with comfort and homely food and at a serene place.
