We really enjoyed our stay at Saiba Cottage. Our room was very clean and comfortable with a great view! Our balcony provided a wonderful place to sit and relax. We ate many meals with our host, Mahinder, and another guest. All the food was delicious (and good for our somewhat sensitive Western palettes). Mahinder went above and beyond to make sure we had a good stay. When we arrived he met us, when we left he walked us to the bus stop and sent us on our way (with his phone number should we need help), he spent a morning taking us in his car on a tour (not to mention the impromptu tour he gave us when we met before we were staying at Saiba— he saw us trying to figure out things about the historic buildings on Mall Road and offered explanations). Most of all we loved learning about India. We had great discussions and he patiently answered our many questions. To stay with Mahinder is to become his friend. If back in Shimla we will certainly stay with him again!
