Initially looks lovely and the pool is pretty. 
Nice gardens.  

The rooms..  Overpriced and overrated.  My neighbors room was damp with mouldy smell...it was sandwiched between 2 rooms no window so no vemtilation.  She was given a discount but i wouldnt gave stayed in that room with the damp.. 

My room... I had a double room on the end that was nice but very small compared to other auroville guesthouses.  

The probkem...  It had a bathroom that connected to the next bathroom with a kind of concrete open window above eye level.  Hence i could hear all my neighbors toilet noises (!) talking and everything. It was pretty unpleasant.  

The owner kindly  moved me to a more expensive room that was quiet and quite  nice (but very dark and had a rubbish tip outside the window.)  
But... The wifi didnt connect there.   Nor for the person in another room at back block of pricier rooms.  

I needed wifi so said id leave as they said...  there was no more they could do for me. 

The owner was initially very nice then turned very nasty.. Obnoxious.  He said i had to oay the vast percentage of my booking as id booked thru booking.com...their cancellation policy.  After my final compkaint he told me i was wasting him and his staffs time and was arrogant and rude to me... . 

 For the price one pays it should not be as my experience. In many trips to auroville thus was my worst guesthouse experience.  

There are better auroville guesthouses... 

I was there in auroville for some healing and had booked Greens as id heard it was good.  In my opinion sadly it isnt. 



Overrated  

Nice place and ambience. Room size was little small but other than everything was good. Very near to matrimandir and even the restaurant food was good. They also provide room service and also have swimming pool. They have trees planted all around

Couple trip

I stayed with my family here for three nights, and I found the room to be very clean and comfortable for a family. It is located very close to Matrimandir of Auroville, in a quiet environment. We enjoyed out stay very well. However, there is cope for improvement in terms of bathroom and breakfast. Only idlis and bread are served day after day. No variety.

Good Guesthouse in a very good location

One of the best place during my trip in Tamil Nadu thanks to his lovely owner and whole team. We had the family room, two rooms and an xtra large bed (for almost 4 people). 
It seems the owner has changed (he is indian not german) by chance because this one was so gentle as all team! 
We send him our friendship from France!

A fantastic trip!

The room that we got is a family room as we were 5 who wanted to stay in one room. Because of that we did not get a room with balcony.But the common balcony was good with think green on one side. It was raining and so we got peaceful morning sipping coffee sitting in this balcony. The wooden finish inside the room gave it a rich finish and minimal furniture, the ac, clean bathroom etc gave a good experience for us. Lot of trees and plants and it is truly green. 
For those who want to spend more time in Auroville, this is heaven.

The breakfast area can be more hygienic though. Something for improvement.

Peaceful and Clean stay

Never ever have I lost anything from a locked room before and the management defended my saying they had only one key to the room which was given to us and they could do nothing about it. Not even ask there staff and workers. It's really the worst experience I've had in any place of stay. How could someone just come inside a locked room and take mobile phone kept for charge is just petrifying for anyone who stays here considering that the property management says they don't have extra key than the one they had given us. They were not even ready to ask their staff or workers about the issue and we have given Police complaint I'm this regard.

LOST MY MOBILE FROM LOCKED ROOM

I had been to Auroville Pondicherry with my friend.We found out this hotel from the reviews on Tripadvisor. I must say that being close to the visitor centre is a major Plus point of this hotel.The rooms are clean and the staff is simple.It had more of an homely touch to our stay.Breakfast was healthy.We had a good stay in this place. I will definitely recommend it to those who wish to live in Auroville.

Good homely stay

We just walked into the place looking for accommodation. The staff was helpful . The sitting area was the deciding factor for us :) The cook was on leave  so we didn't get good food.
The beds are comfortable and the bathroom was clean. It helps that it's opposite Auroville main entry point. You might want to be mentally prepared for the house lizards though 😃

Serene  and Comfortable

It was only a short stay but really enjoyed staying there.  Everyone was friendly and a nice atmosphere, food was very good and it was a handy position.  Thanks again for all the help and info that you gave me.  The room was basic but expected for the price I paid and it had all that I needed.

A good stay

The week I spent here was one of the highlights of my time in India and I would definitely recommend staying here if you want to experience Auroville.
The rooms are clean, comfortable and cool. 
The staff is helpful and friendly. 
The food is amazing, really, really, really amazing.
There is a great atmosphere at the hostel which attracts a certain kind of vibe, so you will be meeting great people in no time.
The hostel is very close to the visitors centre which is great if you want to explore the workshops and different events Auroville organizes.
And maybe less important, but still noteworthy: it just looks beautiful!
So thank you Green's Guesthouse for an amazing time!
