We highly recommend Alessandra Hotel where we spent 2 lovely nights. The staff were really friendly & so helpful.. We were very pleased with the breakfast area, service, spacious rooms.. Location was within walking distance from the train station & close to the main attractions.. We would definitely stay there again .

Beautiful room, excellent location. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful ringing ahead for our next travel stop! After initial difficulties in locating the correct floor the hotel was located on the 2nd ... there is a lift which does not go all the way to the ground level. An outstanding hotel which deserves to be found if you look up! Hospitaliyt exellent 

Great location, easy to get in and out of the city. The staff was wonderful. The hotel is well maintained. The beds were very firm, too firm for my liking. The food was good. I, especially, enjoyed the view of the sunset.

Room service and stay was excellent. However, we were not that satisfied with the restaurant. Did not get much options in veg and fish. And that too most of the items were unavailable. Hope to see some improvements on that front next time.

The maids ensured my room was immaculate on a daily basis  and the receptionist was very friendly and  also extremely helpful.❤️I was very impressed by all of the staff with in the hotel , even when I asked if the could organise hiring a tuxedo for the evening they were able to arrange everything

We spent two mighthere on business and I must say that everything was excellent the location of the hotel is quiet close to my destination as well as some other business center in the city as for the room even though being small but  it is excellent and surprisingly comfortable I would definitely recommend this hotel to other having a business trip however this hotel might not suit those enjoying a family trip due to lisht limited room space

friendly and excellent serviceThe rooms are spacious clean and neat. Only the drawback is bathroom. They did not provide hot water in tap but provided hot water in buckets. Thats a big put off. The food was strictly ok specially for vegetarians. 24 hours checkout and very reasonable.

Definitely, One of the best hotels In Payyannur, it is in heart of the city and easily accessible, Hygienic and Spacious rooms, beautiful ambiance, 24 hours excellent room service,  variety of delicious food.

A decent hotel near ksrtc bus station. Thoughh small rooms but clean and tidy. linens are comfort and clean. Food is tasty. Service is ok. Friendly staffs. check in and check out was quick. Safe. prime location. A restaurant is present at the same compound which caters tasty food and the ambiance of the hotel was so amazing

Wonderfull experience

The GOOD - The General Manager was more than accommodative. I was at Payyanur for an International Rating Chess tournament and had to stay there from 27th Oct 2016 - 11.30 am to 31st Oct - 21.00 hrs. I was initially (read further to know why I have mentioned the word initially) offered a per night tariff of Rs.1500 - Single Occupancy (inclusive of taxes + complimentary Breakfast + free Wi-Fi Internet). I stayed in Room #201 and everything - the room, wardrobe with hangers, Bed, Pillows, blankets, bath towel, fittings & fixtures was very well maintained. The bathroom too was good with complimentary tooth brush, tooth paste, coconut hair oil, bath soap and a shampoo sachet. The food served was typically Kerala Cuisine with a lot of coconut oil used as the prime cooking oil. All the food served, veg and non veg tasted really good. I tried Fish curry, fish fry, rice, sambar, poori bhaji, appams, chapati, dry sabji and some Kerala speciality curries. The Hotel also has a Beer & Wine Bar. The Housekeeping guys and the room service persons are all well mannered and customer friendly. Overall an excellent experience. The surroundings are tranquil. I asked for an IRON and I was provided with the same + a BONUS - along with the iron, an IRON Board was provided - no extra charges for this. Laundry services are also good with same day delivery.

The BAD - In Room #201 where I stayed, the call bell (to call the room service guys) did not work. The intercom (usually we dial #9) to call the reception for room service also did not work. No HOT water in any of the rooms running down the taps. But they DO have running Hot water service, serviced by a housekeeping/room service guy RUNNING up and down the stairs to provide HOT water in buckets. In other rooms where some of the other Chess tournament participants (my friends) stayed too had problems. R#202 & 203 - AC does not cool the room properly. R#205 - the commode got choked and flushing did not solve and hence forced the occupants to ask for a change of room and that was willing obliged by the GM of the Hotel. FREE Wi-Fi is provided ONLY in the lobby / foyer / reception area on the ground flr and not in the rooms.

The UGLY - The Hotel does not accept CARD payments of any kind - be it a credit card or a debit card.

The EXTRAS that one must KNOW - 
a) An IDBI Bank ATM just opposite to the Hotel - 20 meters opposite the hotel.

b) Since there was no HOT water in bath + intercom not working + Wi-Fi not provided in rooms + call bell not working, I decided to check-out on 27th Oct evening itself and I was offered a further discount of Rs.300/- per night.

c) Breakfast (complimentary to occupants) is usually Poori Bhaji, Dosas, Appams, Puttus etc.

d) Alternatives for Breakfasts - Get out of the Hotel from the Right side gate, walk for about 50 meters and cross a junction / road intersection and walk further for around 60 to 80 meters and find 2 small vegetarian restaurants (take it as snack-lets) on the LEFT - the second one is where the crowd heads to. It offers, Idly, Wada, Dosa, Chapati, Idiappam, Poori Bhaji and the kind. The taste is good and the TEA (Chhaya in Malayalam - local Keralite language) is also good.

e) Prefer to have Beef or other Non Veg dishes? - Get out of the hotel from LEFT gate and walk across the road and find a little food corner 100 to 150 mtrs away on right side. I tried EGG Fried Rice here and it was okay. Not very tasty, but okay to satiate one's hunger pangs.

f) Further ahead on the Payyanur Main Road near to the OLD Bus Stand, is the Bombay Veg Restaurant - I could not get time to visit there - but I guess, this is the best place to have VEG food around - Well, I tried calling up the hotel (Bombay Veg Hotel) to see if they can deliver food to my hotel. The first question asked was for how many people? I said just 1 and the reply was NO. We do NOT deliver for 1 person. Perhaps they deliver for 10 or more than 10 persons.

g) Backwaters & Boating - The hotel guys are clueless - And this is bad for North Kerala Tourism. However, I had a very good backwater boat ride. I am writing a detailed review of the same under Kavvayi, Kannur, Kerala / Valiyaparamba, Kerala.
