Emerald Trail is a beautiful place. The staff are friendly and welcoming, & are ready to cater to your requests promptly. Food is very good. Best of all, it is pet-friendly, & your pets are given the same loving care as you.

I stumbled upon this little piece of heaven when I wanted to get away from Delhi for a short impromptu holiday with my mum, aunt, and four-legged baby, Mara. Travelling with senior citizens and a pet requires quite a bit of research and consideration. But the more reviews I read, the more enticing Emerald Trail appeared to be. Without second guessing my choice, we had packed up for a May 2023 trip to Emerald Trail, Jungliya Gaon (Bhimtal). How can I convince you to make a trip here (though I really want it to be my little secret getaway place)? Well, I came back here with more family members in October 2023. For senior citizens with knee and leg aches and pains, the initial steps (not too many) up is a wee bit strenuous, but the railings and people are enough to help you get to where you need to be. There are accommodations for every type of group - for my family of 6 adults, 1 child, and a dog we booked the Twin Cottage and opted for the sofa-cum beds too (I’d booked the Family Cottage in May. It had 2 large beds, an attached bathroom that was clean and spacious, a cupboard, and multiple shelves tables to put your bags/trinkets on). You do have to pay separately for the wi-fi though (it isn’t an exorbitant amount - we paid about Rs. 200 per room per day). 
Each cottage comes with its own enclosed (massive) garden that is ideal for the four legged babies to run wild (and did we go wild!). And you don’t have to worry about them getting lost or injured. The gardens are thoughtfully fenced to ensure our furry friends safety. The sprawling gardens are brilliant if you want to catch up on some running around, playing frisbee and badminton and ball. It was loads of fun! You can spend time bird watching or checking out the local flora. Also go  for walks around the area.
I can’t compliment the management and other staff members enough - they love animals (there are 2 dogs on the property who are energetic and gorgeous and loveable! There’s also a cow they rescued who grazes on any property that isn’t occupied by guests. She’s gentle and always open to getting some scritches). They treat all four-legged guests with equal respect and adoration. Also, you don’t have to worry about food for your furry friend - they have a special menu for them! Mara (my baby indie) enjoys the boiled veggie and dal stew with rice at night and has boiled eggs and curd for breakfast. If you want chicken and mutton, those options are available too. Even our menu was tailored to our preferences. Prakash Ji would cheerfully accommodate our requests of adding more spices to certain dishes while keeping others mild. We had 3 different chicken dishes, enjoyed various dal preparations including Bhat ki churkani, ate multiple portions of Maggi with butter and half-fried eggs (sunny-side up), and devoured many other simple yet scrumptious items. Try out the tea/coffee with bhaji. It’s brilliant for cold winter evenings. 
Emerald Trail is located away from the hustle and bustle of Bhimtal and the view (emerald green trees among others) that surrounds you will give you the much-needed reprieve your body, mind, and soul is looking for. Also the view and location definitely makes up for any spiders and other local bugs that might be enjoying your accommodation with you. 
This rustic and beautiful location isn’t for those who are looking for a 5-star accommodation with gourmet meals. It’s for those who want to soak up some sun, take in the green and blue, play ball and frisbee with their family, and let their four-legged babies get the freedom they deserve! 
I know for a fact I will be returning many more times (just me and my doggo, with family, and with friends). A heartfelt thank you to Lalit and Prakash and the didi and also a big thank you to Sumit (the owner of the property) for giving us pet parents a gorgeous pawcation destination. 
Emerald Trail is small (large) nook in the hills that I’ve become attached to, and I hope others get to experience a similar joy. (Note: the pics I’ve uploaded are a mix from my May and October visits.)

Travels with Mara: The grass is always green on this side!

Time well spent with children and grandchildren along with family friends..ideal for seniors because of the courteous well trained staff...home cooked meals..easy terrain to walk around and relax for seniors.All this in the lap of nature.Less said the better.Kindly go and experience the exotica!

Enchanting trail

Home away from home type of atmosphere and treatment. Food is extremely good. The staff is very well behaved and are always helpful. Cottages have very well furnished rooms wifh attached toilets. Very scenic view from the rooms. Must visit for all who want a perfect weekend getaway from city life. 

A must visit for all without any second thoughts.

Please Drop everything and go to THE EMERALD TRAIL.Far from the madding crowd..Away from the concrete Jungle..Silence is the only language spoken and understood here Please reconnect with yourself and nature amidst the lovely.. lively surroundings with wonderful hospitality and facilities.. We absolutely had an incredible time. 
It was a very peaceful and a beautiful property along with an excellent staff, they took care of us really well. 
I would also like to mention the food was outstanding and extremely delicious. 

It truly felt like living at a home away from home especially for our pet as well.

Enjoyed Pet vacation at Emerald Trail Bhimtal

Stayed there with my family and we had an absolute blast.  We booked the colonial Villa and it easily accommodated our group of 6. This is an extremely pet friendly property and the staff will take care of all your needs . We booked directly with the property ( Thanks Anand ji for all your help! ) and they graciously threw in some extra perks. Round of applause for Lalit Mohan ji and his team ( special thanks to Prakash) for making our stay so comfortable. If you are a pet owner and looking for serene surroundings , this place is a must visit . 
We spent our afternoons and evenings walking through the village and it was an amazing experience. For the thrill seekers , plenty of paragliding places within 15 mins drive time .

It was really a nice place to brainstorm, luxurious enough for comfort but alsoe very environment conscious..the thing I liked the most was birds chirping while working..the food was close to what it is at home
