We stayed in this property for 3 nights and loved the experience. The caretakers cooked great food. The location is awesome, just 1 min walk to the beach. The rooms are clean and well maintained. Recommended.

By far one of the best places we have visited. Such a serene location , appreciable hospitality, tranquility of sea and it goes on and on. Really found happiness being there. Kudos to the owner and staffs.

I visited the place last weekend with my wife and 1.5 year old kid. The place is a 10 min drive from the national highway and right next to Kattoor beach. The crew was very warm and welcoming. 
The 3 bedroom bungalow has long veranda's facing the sea and its a bliss to sit on a chair, sip tea and listen to the waves. We had reserved for lunch and dinner in advance and we were treated to sumptuous home made food. Rooms are well maintained and cozy. They have a general dining room/hall where the food is served. When we visited there were no other guests. It was too sunny until 4 PM, after which he hit the beach. There is a low sea wall erected on the beach right outside Samudra sukh and hence have to walk for 2 mins to reach the open beach. Even though the beach was clean and well maintained the ocean was not so, quite a lot of waste and plastic. So we exchanged the bath in the ocean for just lying on the sand.
Overall its a beautiful place to relax and read your book or have some peaceful family time. 
Pros: Good location, great food, Peaceful stay.
Cons: Door lock was rusted. Needs to be changed, Beach isn't that great. Marari is better.

Samudrasukh Beach Bungalow is 14km from Allepey railway station. Easy to get there by taxi or auto. Stay is very near to beach, only few metres away. In this property they have common living & dinning room with television & Wi-Fi facilities and 3 bedrooms. Rooms were neat and maintained well. Collection of artifacts in rooms are good. If you are bookish, they have lots of books to read & relax. View from balcony is superb..Just loved to sit and relax, hearing the waves sound watching the sea and fisherman boats. Staffs are helpful and food they prepared are tasty.. There is no other restaurants or shops nearby, but no problem u get a good food there itself. You can take a long walk in beach side, can see beautiful coconut trees, fishing boats, freshly catched fishes and crabs, fishing nets preparation, if u are lucky can see dolphins. If you need privacy to relax with your loved ones this is the good place to stay near beach.

Beautiful & calm place to enjoy the nature..

Amazing stay!

The name says it all.. Samudrasukh - happiness of ocean.

In spite of a great location and wonderful interior, our experience was not that great. We travelled with our parents (senior citizens) and kids (4 years old). It is basically a guest house (not at all a speciality lodging !) maintained by a cook and another person. Absence of a manager is quite evident in true sense ! I am trying to summarise our experience here :
1. Location is wonderful, just 25 mins drive from Alappuzha railway station
2. View from room is excellent 
3. Breakfast was included, but with just 2 options.. either bread and omelet or another one item. 
4. Fixed menu was available for lunch(Rs. 300 for regular vegetarian meal and additional price for non veg). But the quality of food was pathetic, they did not even serve all the items mentioned in the menu. When we asked, they just told that 'we have not cooked' !!
There is no restaurants nearby where we can just walk.Fortunately we met with an auto driver (Mr. Sathish) who took us to proper restaurants for lunch and dinner everyday and that's how we survived.
5. Cook was not even familiar with the name of local cuisine !
6. There is huge communication gap between the person handling the booking and the people interacting during the stay. Looks like booking is handled by some third party agency.

Overall, if you expect little personal care like any other speciality lodging, this is not the right place.

Note: This guest house is located at Kattoor beach, not on Marari beach. Marari beach is much more beautiful and clean.
