We stayed at Shades for 2 nights prior to a houseboat trip. The location is very close to "finishing point" making it an excellent place to stay if you plan on taking a houseboat. The room was clean with decent wifi and good amenities. Martin was our host and incredibly welcoming. He recommended some great local restaurants to visit (Thaff delicacy being the standout option). Not only did he perform his "duties" to a high degree, but he is also a truly great guy. We shared some great conversations about all sorts of things. Highly recommended!

This is the kind of place where i would recommend for both couples and singles.The rooms are not that big but it`s alright for the price.The room is clean and the bed is so comfy.The staff is really friendly and very helpful.I was only planning to stay at Alleppey for one day but the vibe on that place is so good that i stayed another night as well.The food delivered (on request) is really good.The hospitality and the way of them handling others is amazing.They help us choose the better option to do in Alleppey and they arranged everything just like i wanted.Amazing place to stay.Thank you Shade.

Shade Tourist home,Allepy is a budget hotel with good facilities like Television,Bath attached,wash basin.The room is small and clean.Its a walkable distance from Alleppy KSRTC bus stand and Boat jetty of Allepy,i mean less than one kilometer.In five minutes walk we can reach the Finishing point location.There is no resturant available here.

On arrival there was no member of staff at the site, this was 14:00 so it's unreasonable not to staff a building at this hour. I rang the hotel manager whom didn't seem to care I was waiting to check in and hung up on me. A young man arrived at 14:20 and didn't know who we were nor did he understand why there was no manager present. He handed us a key and showed the room to us. The smell is what first hits you, like a wet fish, then it's the size. I envied Harry Potter's cubed under the stairs for space in this room. The mould across the walls is certainly a detriment to the place, but also the layer of silt and dirt that coats the floors and the furniture. Most amenities are unavailable or don't work, the television is uncontrollable and the fact that it wasn't set up or wired in on arrival was quite a hassle. The bed is small (but comfortable) I don't recommend for anyone above 5ft5" and being 6ft and my partner 5ft 7" this was awkward. Now the main event, the bathroom, oh joy. There hasn't been a deep clean in its natural life, I'm sure hot water was supposed to be supplied but wasn't, and the floor is definitely not the original colour... But the icing on the cake was the human faeces that say on the seat of the toilet that had dried and crusted over, meaning it had been there a considerable amount of time. This was totally unacceptable and on complaint to the manager that turned up at 18:00, nothing availed other than a slight 8% discount from the room. A shameful place for the price.
