Erathra Homestay

From initial booking enquiry through to departure, my experience was nothing but exceptional. Sunil, the owner and host, of this small, but cosy homestay really has got a good thing going here and he is truly passionate about running, and constantly improving his homestay. The property is clean and the rooms have reliable AC and working hot water. Decent WiFi too. The location is also perfect - in a quiet local village spot by the canal, with views over the paddy fields, where you can watch evening sunsets or relax in a hammock. I have stayed in various homestays all over the world and this experience ranks as one of the best. Sunil goes the extra mile to ensure guests are comfortable and enjoy their stay - whether this is by providing unlimited bottled water, acting as a local guide by recommending what to see / where to go, or socialising over a superb home-cooked (Sunil is a great cook!) meal with a couple of beers after a day out sightseeing. He even has a bike that you can use to explore the local area - this was a highlight of my stay. If you are panning to visit the backwaters then do not think twice about booking to stay here. I almost decided to stay in Alleppey, but am glad I didn't. Erathra Homestay offers the real backwater experience where you can observe, and be a part of, local life, away from the hustle and bustle of the town. Sunil - my thanks to you (and Tiger!) again for making my stay a pleasurable and relaxing finale of my grand tour of India.
