Great place to stay. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It's very well maintained , delicious vegetarian spread. Guests are made to feel at home. The greenery and domesticated animals makes it a perfect home stay. We had a wonderful time at this place.

Our stay at Balkatmane Heritage spa resort was an awesome experience, something very different from usual hotels and resorts. The place is designed in a very a traditional south style architecture, and had a peaceful and calming vibe, with greenery and  farm animals roaming freely all around. The place was maintained very neat and clean, very helpful staff and the best of all was the homely yet flavourful variety of karnataka style dishes. We just loved their breakfast. Good, hygienic and delicious spread. 
Location of the property is a little into the village but good road access, and convenient to visit the various beaches too.

We feel we should have stayed a little longer there..definitely recommending to everyone.

We had a dance shoot in Balkatmane heritage resort. I is a very beautiful property, green and serene, traditional and spacious. All staff were courteous, food was delicious and healthy. Great place for health seekers, nature lovers. Thanks to Mr Keerthi Bhat for looking after our team and doing all the needful for smooth running of the Shoot.

A perfect escape from the city cacophony and pollution. A healing centre for the body and soul.  Sweetest of the people here, who oblige to every tiny wish.

One of the best homestays I have visited over the years . The building is very astheticaly built in old style with courtyards et al .The village setting in coastal Karnataka and also very close to a lot of attractions . The food is very homelike and they make a lot of coastal specialities like goli baje , buns , kotte kadubu. The calm setting is a very welcome change from the city noises . In the monsoons one could just sit in the verandah and watch the rain sipping on a strong coffee or reading a book ..

Simply divine - that in a nutshell describes the stay. The spiritual atmosphere, home away from home ambience made wondrous by the sheer generosity and positive energy emanating from each and everyone starting from Mr. Shivaram Poojary, Ms. Reshmi - who was the star for me with her never say no and silent efficiency, Mr. Keerthy and the talented chef Mr. Madhu who ensured we would put on weight in the four days we stayed here. 
Shankar, Ms. Shubha, Ms. Jalaja, Ms. Pushpa, Ms. Geetha made sure everything was spic and span and the way they take care of their animals - rabbits, hens, turkey and the sweet cows where we got the chance to do the Go-Pooja. Each meal, each moment was a sense that it can’t get better than this but it just kept getting better and better. Thank you and we are leaving here with our hearts filled with gratitude and peace from the wondrous 4 days we got to spend here. Really looking forward to coming back here in February.

I have been visiting this place every year for the last few years and find this place the best to relax from our hectic city life. I live in U.K and every year I undergo my Ayurvedic Panchakarma treatment  here by  the best in -house doctors and therapists. The doctors are very experienced and go through your medical history and accordingly make a treatment plan and  adhere to it.
They serve  very healthy vegetarian food as prescribed by the Doctors. The resort  produces all  seasonal vegetables organically grown and has its own dairy farm also.
Spread over an area of six acres with lush green plants and animals you feel close to the nature here.
Rooms are very well equipped with all 5 star facilities and the best part is the staff who are very polite, courteous and attentive. This place is located a short distance away from Thekatte on the Mangaloe-Kundapur highaway with many famous temples nearby.
Whether it is for a short pleasure trip for youngsters or for recharging their energies for the middle aged or for senior citizens like me , this is the ideal place, one should try. I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Best Homestay with excellent food and hospitality 

Me any my friend had a great time at Balkatmane heritage resort.  The vibe of the place makes you feels relaxed and refreshed. The property is beautiful and has a vintage look in every corner of the house. We enjoyed taking photographs around the property.  The staff was very friendly and helpful.  The Food served was pure vegetarian which was delicious.  
Overall we had great time in Balkatmane and this place will be forever etched in our minds.

Best Health and Spa resort with Ayurvedic treatment

We spent our first wedding anniversary here. The place has a very cosy vibe. The staff are extremely courteous and helpful. I would like to specially mention Rashmi and Shitil. They went out of their way to organise a candle light dinner in the lawn with a bonfire alongside. The spa treatments were also excellent. Would definitely visit again and recommend it to friends and family


Perfect first wedding anniversary 

Our family of 5 with 2 senior citizens stayed at Balkatmane Heritage Spa and Resort for 10 days. The place is simply awesome as it is located 7ams away from Tekkatte which is on Kundapur-Mangalore Highway.

When we checked in, the spa  had many overseas guests who had come for ayurvedic treatment. They had stayed for 4 weeks and were all praise for the facility. We were in for a big surprise when we were told that there was a Yoga expert who would visit the resort on all days for a 1 hour yoga session, Getting this personal attention was great and motivated us to be regular. 

The ayurvedic treatments were well planned and meticulously performed by well trained therapists. It was very rejuvenating. 

We were asked our food preferences and dietary preferences were respected. Food was very tasty, full of variety and served with aim of promoting good health. 

Staff at the hotel (Rashmi, Dinesh, Shithil, Anand and Madhu the cooks) were very courteous, polite but firm regarding house rules. Mr Shivaram, who is the overall in-charge for the resort was discreet and went about his work in a quiet, dignified manner.

Rooms were very clean and had excellent upkeep. 

Overall, we were thrilled and very impressed with the way Balkatmane Resort treated us and went out of their way to keep us comfortable. They gave us details about interesting places to visit like Aneguuda Vinayaka Temple, Koteswara, Kundeswara, Hattiangadi, Shankarnarayana, Amriteswari etc.

Awesome experience

We went to stay at Balkatmane for a couple of days with parents. The rooms are neat and clean and the house has been maintained well. The manager Shivaram was very sweet to preempt our requirements without even asking. The staff , Rashmi and Kshitij, were very warm and took extra care of our needs. Service is above expectations no doubt and the food was finger licking. Homely, tasty, mangalorean food.  24/7 hot water, air conditioned rooms. The property is spread across 6 acres that is also home to some lovely animals and birds. Nestled away in Kundapura in Udupi, its a great place to visit if you looking for some calm and peaceful time away from the city.
