Hotel Neelkanth

Its not a hotel but a lodge. Its in a cramped street. But as soon as you reach the hotel, its quite nice. Nice place to stay. Staff is good. My brother and me stayed there on different occasions. Would only suggest this hotel only if you are short on money and high on duration.

Cozy and cheap

On arriving at the hotel, the guy who checked us in appeared to speak decent English but he had obviously just memorised the check in spiel. From then on, we didn't have a sensible conversation with anyone at the hotel until the final day.

The porter who showed us to our room stood in the tiny space for 5 minutes before I had to ask him to leave. Then another porter knocked on the door 15 minutes later and just made strange hand gestures.

The room was miniscule. We have fairly big backpacks and with them taking up 3/4 of the available space, only one of us could stand up at a time. The bed was rock hard and on the verge of collapse. The bathroom had a squat toilet, quite rare in India hotels and the cistern stopped working after the first day. The window overlooked the corridor and, during the many frequent powercuts, the generator fired up right outside our room.

On the plus side, there is a small TV with cable so I could watch the football and it's close to good street food.

I doubt we'd stay there again if we went back to Lucknow.

Tiny room, weird staff and overpriced

I'm sorry to say that my experience was very bad in this hotel. I was travelling alone and this probably led the working guys think I was in need of particular attention, which of course were bothering me. They woke me up two times in early morning to ask if I needed breakfast. They gave me their telephone number. I did not give mine but someone stole it from the hotel register. I had telephone jokes in my room. Around my room it was very noisy all the time till 1 of clock in the night. There was also a mouse in the room.  I strongly not recommend this place, it was that worst in my whole experience in India!

I booked a double room for 17 & 18th July 2014 night at Hotel Neelkanth, Hussainganj, Lucknow.  On arrival, I was allotted a super deluxe room, but the AC was not working.  The engineer could not fix it and i was shifted to four other rooms one by one as each one either was heavily damp or ac did not work.  Breakfast ordered was stale and had to be thrown away.  I decided to shift to another hotel near by at 9 p.m. on 17th July.  The owner was kind enough to refund me the full amount paid and was apologetic for the inconvenience. 

NEVER AGAIN AT HOTEL NEELKANTH, LUCKNOW

Actually ,i dont know why u cleartrip team,has added this filthy hotel in your list.The staff was very rude, no management at all, they refused to give the booked room which i had booked 4 days before.u shud take some action against this hotel
