Located next to Indus River, these are camps with semi luxury amenities.
24 hours hot water, basic bathroom amenities and a wonderful staff.
Special thanks to Adil, Showkat and other team members who made our stay a memorable one.

This place is abt 10 kms away from Leh city located at Shey, walking distance to Rancho school.
Head to this place only if you wish to avoid city madness.

We were 3 girls who stayed at their property and it was the best way to kick start our trip. They were amazingly helpful and made sure that we got everything we needed. It is also completely safe and nestled at the foot of the mountains. It is a drive from Leh but it suited us perfectly when we wanted to relax for the first 2 days and acclimatise. The food is also really simple and nice.

Perfect mountains gate ways for anyone looking get away from the city the place is calm serve and ofcourse very well managed .The service is even stars! I will be here as a regular visitor now @saurabh nehra

It was a nice and peaceful tent house and staff was very cooperative and good service the food was very tasty which we had in the dinner that was dal makhani we enjoy a  lot in the evening with borne fire

Located in Shey, a few kilometers away from the heart of Leh, Himalayan Bivouacs offer a luxury camping experience along the banks of the Indus (Sindhu) river in what is an isolated property, a little ways off the main road.

The first thing you notice is that the staff is excellent - courteous and always willing to help. Adil, Shaukat, Rashid and Chotu were always available to assist. The tents themselves are very nice - clean, comfortable bedding, decent room and a very good restroom and bath. They also offer internet Hotspot devices which can be a hit or a miss.

The restaurant offers delicious, if generic, dishes that aren't cheap but not exorbitantly priced either. The bottled water is pricey though and none of it complimentary - a few more essentials could be provided since this is supposed to be a luxury experience. They do their best to accommodate guest's needs and we enjoyed good meals throughout our stay.

The place was under construction when we visited with a few more tents being added to the roster. My only suggestion would be to add something in the vacant central area - there's not much to do here in the day if you are not out exploring; adding some nice flora or seating areas etc. helps add something tangible to the experience. The river is accessible and is a short walk from the property with a view of the Thikse monastery. Unfortunately, we were told that the camps have these views which isn't the case - you need to walk to the view points, if they are accessible given weather conditions.

Overall, a nice play to stay at if you're in Leh with little to complain. The staff makes the experience worth the penny.

We stayed here as a small group and since this was the first Leh-Ladakh trip for all of us, we were quite excited to be there. HLB is a little away from the Leh town and Indus river flows by quite close to this camp. The cottages are pretty well made. But we did face problem with hot water constantly and since it was still very cold when we visited, we did struggle a bit. The room heaters were also quite ineffective in heating the cottages. The highlight of the place has to be the staff, all of whom are just exceptional, friendly and accommodating in any request you make to them. The food is really good but on the expensive side. I did face some issue with the reservation and advance paid, I had to cut short my stay by a day which I had informed them much earlier. But in spite of that I was charged cancellation charges which I was not informed about in my earlier conversations. This I thought was quite unprofessional. I would recommend this place may be during summer months of June-July when the cold is not that harsh. And I would also recommend that for lunch/dinner meals, it is better to go to the Leh town.

GOOD THINGS
This property has five luxury tents located at a secluded location among a lot of greenery. The tents are of high quality. The furnitures and bathroom fittings are of good quality. Food quality was very good. 

BAD THINGS
I had booked three tents for myself and my family members. Our group consisted of 6 person. The payment for these 3 rooms was made by me through credit card more than a month in advance, and I had received the booking confirmation. However when we arrived there on the night for which I had made the booking, we were informed by the hotel manager that they have only 2 rooms available as they had overbooked the rooms. As a result, the 6 of us had to share the only 2 rooms that were available, with 2 of us sleeping on extra mattress kept on floor. Rather then being apologetic over this error, the camp manager had the odacity to tell us that he will not refund the cost of the third room because he provided 2 extra beds for us and the cost of 2 extra bed is equal to a separate tent. However, I finally got my refund 3 days later after lodging a complain with the website through which I made the booking. 

There was some trouble with the water heater on the day of our stay. No hot running water was available on that day for this reason.

Good property but poor experience

Well, let me start by saying most reviews on google about this are fake.
There is nothing luxurious about it.
We booked it for two days. First day we arrived at afternoon at 2. There was full sun still there was no hot water in solar.
Same solar tank is shared by 4 tents, so if someone else uses the hot water before you, you don't get any. Second, since its solar based, forget about any hot water in the morning.
So, you should skip the idea of bathing here.
Next, used sheets were there in the room with hair and stains. After, showing it, the person was unwilling to change it with a wierd attitude, but finally he did it.
Third, no luxury, rooms don't have glasses, no kettle, no toiletries , only bedding to sleep.
Fourth, since its in open, many people come here to chill and they may end up listening to music all night, so be aware about it. You may like it or not.
We left after sleeping one night somehow.
Book if you are fine with these things.
