Was there for visiting temples,the hotel is in a very good atmosphere and good parking.the hotel rooms good and very hygiene and service from hotel staff but the only problem is their is no in-house restaurant. It really does not matter as sarvana Bhavan is 1km from here

We stayed here for a night with family. The hotel is very clean except that the bottom of the door inside the toilet was eaten away by water. The Reception staff and ground staff were very polite and responsive. The Hotel does not have any catering but you can order from room and you get what you need very fast. The highlight was that we forgot mobile charger and the person in reception called us and when we stopped our car in a petrol pump he came on his bike to hand over the charger to us!!!! Very responsible!!!

I did a shortstay in Pinetree Lodge on a recent visit to Kanchipuram. I liked the stay and feel its value for money. The property has been renovated recently and it was quite clean. Its got ample car parking something which you may not find in many Kanchi hotels. The reception staff were helpful in arranging an auto to take me to multiple temples who seemed to have reasonably good information on the temples in Kanchi. (As an additional information, I would suggest using autos to visit temples in Kanchi since navigation can be lot more easier). Couple of caveats - As the name suggests, its a lodge, so don't expect food or coffee (they buy it for you from nearby shops) and you can be woken up by a cock's crow from the neighbor's yard at 4 AM.

Temple trip

We were there in kanchipuram during christmas and there was huge rush everywhere. We had prebooked a hotel through yatra.com only to get disappointed that the hotel does not have any tie up with them. yatras customer care kept disconnecting the call as they could not come up with any solution I guess.
We called many hotels only to learn they dont have any room left. finally pine tree people gave a  positive reply. We reached the place after 30min of wading through the traffic. we had to wait for another 30 min for the room to be ready.
the room was neat, the bed spread were soiled underneath the quilt. the bath room were too cramped.  anti skid tiles had brown stains all over. walls need a new coat of paint. Their website mentions 2200 rs as tariff , but collected 2463 rs as the same. 
lift is yet to be installed. civil work is still going on.
there is no in house restaurant, not even a kettle in the room for the morning coffee.
pros are- got a room to stay at the last moment., there is water heater in the bathroom, so can get round the clock hot water. ample car parking space is a huge plus.


MIXED BAG

Do not stay here. I booked my reservation by calling the hotel reservation desk well in advance. I was travelling with my parents along with small kids.I was about to reach the hotel and i get a call saying my reservation is cancelled because the owners friends wants to stay there. How ridiculous is this? I called them a couple of times and tried to convince and they were not ready to agree. Due to last minute, i had to do my booking in some mediocre hotel. Do not stay here.
