Charming heritage stay in authentic classy old-school polo-themed setting. Spacious clean rooms, decorated with memorabilia and old photos. Authentic less oily Rajasthani food. Truly recommended for enthusiasts of comfortable, no nonsense heritage stays!

Lovely heritage stay

Rooms are well maintained and clean. Property is very nice and hospitality was great. Food was also good. We all loved the property. Washrooms were also very clean and hot water was available. Overall, nothing to complain about..

Beautiful Property, Well maintained and clean.

It is a really peaceful place to have family time there is no disturbance and kids have a lots of place to play. The staff is really kind and the rooms are cozy and spacious. Love the food and the ambience.  Will love to visit again.

A wonderful experience

Beautiful property with lush lawns, clean pool, high ceiling rooms and a certain calmness that is hard to explain. It's on the main Residency road, but the moment you take a turn, it feels like time has stopped ticking. Perfect for a relaxing holiday with family.

True to its name, it is ages old (fans were huge with 2 blades...unsure if they qualify for antique), ceilings were high, decor was tasteful, and equipped with all amenties. Owners live within the premises and are a pleasure to talk to. They were very accommodative and provided ground floor rooms, close to the reception as we were traveling with elderly parents who have difficulty climbing stairs. Rooms were huge (unlike regular 5 star hotels) with a walk in bathroom with wardrobe, dressing desk like old times :D The rooms opened to a lush green lawn, where our daughter played during the day. It's quite close to umaid bhawan. Food is prepared fresh, and has a homely feel to it. We tried north Indian, and Chinese, which were delicious.  Must try the halwa for dessert. You can Swiggy food too. We had Pyaaz kachori from Janta sweets delivered at the hotel. To sum it up, it couldn't be better. If we ever travel to jodhpur, we are sure to stay here again. 

Pros:
1. Approach, parking are fantastic. 
2. Staff is courteous and accommodative 
3. Food is home like and delicious. Everything is prepared from scratch after you place the order and hence takes time. Best to let them know about your meal plans 1 to 2 hrs in advance. 
4. Owners are gentle folk and make time to meet guests
5. Being from a world where Polo (game) is

 

Quaint place tucked away in heart of Jodhpur

N26.268348 E73.030719 In the latter part of the 19th century, Jodhpur had some of the best polo grounds. The oldest one still exists: the original Chammi Polo Grounds. Today, the Jodhpur Polo Season is held every December.
Although you get the impression that it is a former polo clubhouse, the Polo Heritage building was designed by Gold Straw, a well-known architect, and built for Brigadier Duncan, commander of Jodhpur's state forces. The building was given to Leutenant Colonel Kishan Singh of Bhanwari as a wedding gift by Maharaja Hanwant Singh of Jodhpur. The colonel's family still manages the 2-acre property with 24 rooms. Highlights of Indian Polo are displayed in all rooms and in the hotel's library. Its location is 3.5 km south of the clock tower. An auto rickshaw to the clock tower costs ₹150.

Sometime after 2012, the hotel was left to its own devices and lost its appeal due to failing standards. The COVID-19 epidemic exacerbated the demise of this historic building, which is always much more difficult to maintain than contemporary buildings. Signs of decay are everywhere. But salvation has come, and builders are now renovating the main building. An elevator is being installed.

In November 2022, room 119 in the apartment building, the only room on the second floor (3F) without an elevator, with a large private terrace without garden furniture, awaited its major refurbishment. Just before entering, new mattresses were put on the beds. The room was reasonably clean, but don't start looking. The double bed was clean and slept well. Shower lacked water pressure and Wi-Fi reception in the room was intermittent. Many wireless access points with different names, passwords and transmission ranges cover the Polo Heritage, but few function. The pool in the garden is nice. The air conditioning worked poorly with a rattling sound. The room had a hair dryer, refrigerator, kettle for tea and coffee, flat screen television, ceiling fans and room save. Housekeeping visited the room every day. 

Breakfast in the main building was better than expected with polo heritage highlighted in every room. 

The Polo Heritage has a lot of heritage, but the facilities have not entered the 21st century. Just wait until the construction workers leave after renovating the entire complex. We hope this will not be a quick fix India style.

we went as family stayed there for 1 night. pros:-The property is very grand huge and lush greenary.
On night there was power cut.generator took half an hour.room was clean.but in bathroom the shampoo was used and half.

NO WIFI which should be installed.
Food is very tasty 5/5.

We stayed as a family. Room was comfortable, surrounded by greenery and linen and towels were clean but a bit frayed. Worst thing is that they dont have wifi in any of the rooms (and ours was a ground floor one close to the dining area). At the reception , they gave me a password but back at the room, lost the network. I had to come back to the reception to ask again and that's when they told me there is no wifi in any of the rooms,even though the rooms are close together and not far flung. Staff said it's because it's a heritage place then the prices should also be heritage in my mind!

Comfortable stay but dated

Excellent location ..good food but beware of the staff ..we forgot to lock the rooms.while going for breakfast .one of the staff cooly got into our  rooms and stole money from our wallet  ..we even recognised the guy but no action was taken ..highly disappointing 

Beware of the staff at polo heritage

We had been touring Rajasthan and Jodhpur was to be our final destination before our return. The moment our car reached Polo Heritage, we literally fell in love with the place. When we went in, the check-in was the fastest that we ever had. The vicinity was super clean, the ambience was classy and the rooms were spacious. Given the pandemic situation as everywhere else, here too there was less staff, however, they were efficient, courteous and always helpful. The proprietors are a daughter-mother duo and they sure are masters of their business. They interact with warmth. Must say, one of the highlights of our Rajasthan tour was the stay at Polo Heritage.

A home in Heritage!

Cosy place, nice layout and quiet rooms.
feels a bit like a polo player had developed this as a pet project and then lost interest in maintaining and running it. staff are friendly but lack any sense of urgency or motivation to provide additional service.
