While in Jaisalmer you cannot to miss the Som Desert Safari experience! 45 kms from town, the sand dunes in winter time, are a delightful opportunity for paragliding, aero sport, camel 🐫 rides, camel cart rides, jeep safari and more! Best to book a package that includes all above plus refreshments and transportation to and fro. Cost $ 60 per person plus tips. Many camps full of tents and showcasing entertainment programs line the dunes. Sunset and sunrise are just too good to behold from dunes. Have hot tea, some snacks, don’t dirty the already crowded area, and enjoy with family- what was all desert few decades ago but has shrunk due development and climate change. Carry torch, soft shoes, water, light winter clothing, cap etc. Keep Indian ₹ handy for tips - ₹ 100-500 depending on your experience with camel boy or hero driver. Official tickets are extra at actual for different sports. Packages for folk dances, alcohol and food available for dunes. Enjoy!

Best Experience n amazing safari from jeep n camel. 
Camel ride on reaching the sand dunes. We stayed till sunset n back to the hotel. Everything was worth the visit, Enjoyed a lot.. Unforgettable experience of life❤️❤️

I went to Jaisalmer with 2 of my other friends and my experience was awesome. I went for a packaged trip organised by thrillophilia which included Jeep safari,Camel Safari along with 1 night stay in desert along with dinner buffet and breakfast for the next morning. Starting from the stay to the staff behaviour then the safari then food everything was worth the visit. We enjoyed a lot.

Best experience and amazing safari from jeep and camel. Jeep Safari was the main highlighting as you'll find thrilling adventure like drifts, sweep turns, jumping from high sand dunes etc in dessert on the other hand camel riding joy as well. 

Had booked Deluxe Swish Tent for a night with Camel Safari and also took Keep Safari. Had booked the pick n drop from City also through them and Mr Bhati himself picked us around 2:30 pm on 29.12.2019. We were served welcome drink on arrival, followed by Jeep Safari at 4:15 pm and Camel Safari at 4:45 pm. We were at Sand Dunes till 6:30 pm to witness mesmerizing sunset. Returned to camp by around 7pm and offered nice tea with pakodas, followed by breath taking performances by well known folk artists. Had dinner by 9:30 pm and slept. Saw great sunrise at 7:40 am, breakfast was served by 8am. Food was awesome and staff was extremely polite.

For 3 adults and 1 child, we were provided one King size double bed and two extra mattresses, pillows with Razai. The  bathroom attached to the tent was quite spacious with wash basin, shower area and Western conoce. Hot Water was centrally supplied and manageable. Had sufficient charging points in the tent.

The drop back to City was arranged at 10:15am. Overall, a memorable trip.

These are tent accommodation in the desert with bon-fire and folk dance in the night. The tent is clean with hygienic washrooms. The food in the tents is also good. They provide the facility of a camel safari in the evening. Once can also opt for a jeep safari in the morning by paying extra charges, however we would not recommend the same. Overall nice stay.

Stay was good.  Nice bed for 3 in 4000 bucks.  Food was not up to the marks.  Didn't like it at all.  
Cultural program are the main you can enjoy there.  
Desert safari was just awesome,  try early morning for sun rise view 


This is one of the best place to visit once you are in Jaisalmer for Desert Safari.
You can do Desert Safari on a Camel , Camel Cart and Jeep Safari.
Don’t take any package as it is advisable to go there and book your Jeep Safari on the Dunes along with. Camel Safari..
Amazing place to see the sun set and you will enjoy the place a lot..

Good spacious Rooms as we stayed in swiss tents. By that standard, lighting in room and outside was adequate with power backup, Good food. You will be left in mid of desert to explore.
Deceit:  The website says Camel ride for upto mins. , the reservation officer will shorten it to 10 mins. and the actual ride (included in package ) in just for 5 mins.   I loved the ride but they cheat about the duration ! even if you pay extra the camel rider will just extend for 3 more mins. So be ware !

Amazing experience at Sam sand dunes desert safari camp...loved the evening event by folk singer & dancer,followed by dance party... dinner was delicious....but location is slightly away from main road...

Awesome Place , One night stay !

Desert,jeep and camel safari in Jaisalmer

Took the Jeep ride to sand dunes alongwith a Camel ride on reaching the sand dunes.
Stayed till sunset for the view of sunset and then back to hotel.
We skipped the cultural program and dinner as it was in open and was weather was too cold and windy to sit in open space for 3 hours as dinner was to be served at 10 pm.
Advise families with small kids to have an experience of jeep ride and camel rides in the sand dunes and stay till sunset . The jeep n camel ride alongwith sunset view itself a rich experience .the cultural program n dinner can be taken if you can sit for 3 hours in open spaces at night. The cultural program happens not in the dunes but in one of the many resort lawns opposite the dunes in the cold weather which can be avoided by families with small kids.

Simply outstanding experience

Stayed for a night here. The Tent interiors are adequately furnished with essentials. The  Safari Jeep takes a while to reach the dunes but in time for a camel ride into the sunset. Since limited number of vehicles are used to cart the inmates to the dunes, confusion prevails as to where to assemble for return vehicle to the camp.
The evening "cultural program" is a typical demo of the talents of the vanishing breed of folk artistes.
Dinner and the breakfast are nothing much to look forward to but a moderate spread to quell the hunger.
Staff are courteous and helpful.

We visited the place during Christmas vacation. This is one of the finest place when you are planning to visit Sam on the tour of Jaisalmer. The tents are well maintained and had comfy mattresses to retire and relax yourself.In the evening, you can enjoy camel ride and other cultural program. But, as usual what you lack here is the quality of FOOD. That's not up to the mark. However, being with friends during trip everything feels awesome and amazing.
