Hotel Sarovar

I met some travellers in Jodhpur who have been Jaisalmer, they were so enthusiastic speaking  about one new hotel they stayed  : Hotel Sarovar. Then with my friends we were decided to go there, but just arrived in Jaisalmer many taxi-drivers tried to bring us to others hotels,  that is usual there. Fortunately i had kept in my mind this famous Hotel Sarovar, we finally spent there 3 nights, we all felt really as at home. we 've been received by the nice owner, his staff is understanding, and above all his Hotel is very clean, quiet and  very near fort and market.Also They serve good food on the roof top of the hotel which has nice view at 380°!! 
This hotel could also organized an amazing camel safari, we joined others travellers, they became friends after this incredible trip, i will never forget how much we enjoy, thanks to the camel driver too.
I recomend this hotel to any people who are expecting good experience in the golden city. Don't hesitate !!!

New and nice hotel in Jaisalmer

We originally booked a night at Hotel V Vilas and when we rang the hotel the person who came to pick us up took us to this hotel claiming that the hotel we booked was fully booked and this was their sister hotel. Management seemed very shady and it didn't look like there were any other tourists staying here! 

The plus point was that we only paid 150 rupees a night here and for that price the room was worth the money - for this we had a ensuite room, and a TV. The room was not exactly spotless clean and there were stains on the bed but luckily we had sleeping bags so this was not much of a problem.

We ended up booking a camel safari through them and in hindsight it was probably our own fault as we should have realised that they were not too be trusted. We were told there would be a camp with lots of other people joining us, and have great evening entertainment. We was also told we would drive to a point and then have a 2 hour camel ride to the tents. We were actually taken straight to the tents and there was noone else around which was a little disappointing. We then were taken on a camel ride for about 30 mins which was ok - the only real highlight of it was getting the camel owner to make the camel run whilst we were riding. We were then taken to our tent and told there would be entertainment later on in the evening. When we went for the entertainment it seemed like it was full of locals and they were all listening to some sort of local singer. The experience was ok but it was not what we had expected - it felt like we had been taken to one of the hotel owners friends camps and spent the night with them. I think if booking the camel and desert experience its better to book one of the better rated camps on trip advisor and then arranging transport there once in Jaisalmer!

Overall we liked Jaisalmer but just felt a little sour with our experience through this hotel!

Do not trust - Although worth the price

It is a pathetic place. Rooms are very small and untidy. The owner is very bad guy, he fights with guests, no hot water in winters and they dont provide blankets many a times. Even no sink is available in washroom. Pathetic place to visit. This is the last place to stay in jaisalmer.
