Our stay was perfect. rooms was big and clean...Reception staff is a great help to the guests..food service is a bit slow.  location is peaceful and centrally located. You will find local transport near the hotel and reception staff is very cordial in arranging for either taxi or local transport.

Excellent service, good clean spacious rooms and very close to the tourist spots. The managers Mr Rajesh and Megha alongwith the restaurant incharge Sridevi are very enterprising and helpful people. The stay was fulfilling in many ways and it was worth the money.

Excellent stay!! Front Office staff's are very helpful (Rajesh, Megha). Rajesh made our trip memorable with his valuable advices and we planned accordingly.  Young, energetic and friendly hotel staffs who understands very well guests wants and needs. Hotel is located near to caves, Rock climbing. Good food, Good location & reasonable room rate. Restaurant staff's are friendly.

One of the best Property I ever stayed. Very clean rooms and well maintained property. Staffs are very friendly and it feels like you are at your home. Front office staffs having good knowledge about the locality and as per their guidance we modified our travel itinerary  and we could cover all the places. We have enjoyed a lot. I would like to say Mr. Rajesh and Megha went out of the way to make this tour memorable. Chefs prepared good food and happily served by Manjunath and Sridevi. Hotel do serve some local chutney powder which is ultimate in taste. Neat room, no road noise.

The small town of Badami offers many beautiful sites to explore. Our stay for 2 days @ mayura Chalukya Badami was very satisfactory, in all respects. The property is very clean with lots of greenery around .
The garden is well maintained,& bursting with colors.
It is taken good care of, with watering & cutting & cleaning. The rooms are very good  & large, with hu...ge.. bathrooms! Restaurant is very good with pleasant ambiance & good food. Food here is really tasty, specially we liked their breakfast. Our excursion to Aihole, Pattadakkal,& Badami caves were arranged with the help of front desk.Which was excellent. The lady was very helpful & cordial, she even helped us, with the next 3 days stay in their  hotel Mayura Bhuvaneshwari @ Hampi. We enjoyed our stay in both the Mayura hotels by KSTDC.  A big thumb's up for whole KSTDC team!!👍👍

We planned a trip to Badami on way to Hampi and chose this hotel as it was close to Badami caves. Being a govt hotel my only expectation was clean sheets and clean bathroom for the price I had paid. But to my pleasant surprise, it was extraordinary!! From the smooth checkin by a sweet lady who was smiling and guided on all the queries to the housekeeping lady who escorted to the room, the sweet room boy, everyone was so pleasant and happy to help. This is a small cute town but the people are so nice. It was my best holiday ever. The waiters in restaurant were also very humble and worked with dedication with a genuine willingness to serve. 
The rooms were nice and spacious, sheets were sparkling as so was the bathroom. And they even give biotique toiletries!! The  garden pathway has beautiful smelling flowers which made walking so pleasant. In short I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit Badami. You will be happy to see genuine good hearted simple people who make their best effort to make your stay memorable.

Never really had expectation on the kind of facilities which we could get. Infact had kept expectation very low. But we were proved wrong. We felt as if we were in a 5 star hotel. Great hospitality and great ambience.

AC rooms are clean and comfortable. They are close to the reception and dining area. The staff is very helpful and they have maintained the place cleaner. They have an in-house restaurant which serves good food with an attached bar in the side area. The food quality is very good and they even serve a very nice south Indian local breakfast which is excellent. Overall excellent value for money and the best place to stay in Badami.

First time I’m staying in kstdc hotel mayura Chalukya .I’m really surprised with the staff (Special thanks to Rajesh )the way they treated me from the day 1 to day 7 so good I felt like I’m at home with my family members.. must try local food here quality with good quantity it’s really amazing taste with very low price. Over all stay I can give 5 star .....

This is a state run hotel located right on the main road. Rooms are large. The deluxe rooms are provided with an electric kettle. The AC worked well and there was running hot and cold water in the attached bathroom. Car parking is outside the hotel, but is under CCTV surveillance. There is a restaurant with reasonable variety of dishes and a beer bar. Food at the restaurant is OK but not great. The staff are polite and helpful. There are a lot of monkeys; it is sensible to keep the door locked. Overall, a good place to stay in Badami

Reasonably Good Hotel

Hotel is very close the caves and other spots. The hotel is right on the main road but tucked away from the noisy street. That's the good part. Staffs are very polite and courteous. The hotel premise is very big. Their AC semi deluxe rooms are huge and a better option as compared to the other rooms. The semi deluxe rooms have 3 beds, sitting area and a separate dressing area. Rooms and bathroom are clean. 24/7 running hot water. Food requires a special mention. Menu card has a lot of variety and each dish tastes superb!! You will always find autos waiting outside the premise to take you for a tour of the spots. So make a good bargain and start the day!!

Very Good option to stay in Badami

Stayed here in Dec22 with my family on a trip via Badami. My impressions:
1. Room - Massive. That's the first impression walking into the room. The room size was three time your normal hotel rooms. Very clean and it seems to have recently undergone some redesign. Nicely done. Other basic amenities were also there. Two cupboards to keep your stuff. The washroom was also quite spacious and decently done. The fittings were new. All in all a very pleasant experience.
2. Food - This is where KSTDC has to think a bit. The restaurant works on strict timings and in the evening, you cant get anything to eat or drink (not even tea). We had to go out for buying some snacks for kids. The dinner served was quick and efficient. Food tasted good. Limited local cuisine though. Didnt have breakfast as we had to leave early morning. 
3. Location - quite close to the badami temples. close to the main market also. Conveniently located.
4. Overall - Had no complaints from this place. Nice large rooms more than made up for other smaller niggles.

Best place to stay in Badami

We stayed at this property during our family vacation to Badami. 
The location is nice. Rooms are large with all basic amenities.
Food quality needs to be improved, however the breakfast was satisfactory.
Special mention of Mr. Sadanand Pujari. My father left behind his jacket at the hotel and it was delivered to our address at a very nominal price by him within a week's time.

Ideal place to stay in Badami

We visited while on a driving holiday from Mumbai to parts of Karnataka. Good location and a peaceful place not too far away from the city centre of the small Badami town. It is close to the caves which is the main tourist attraction in Badami. Owned by KSTDC, we stayed in the AC Semi Deluxe Rooms on the first floor which are spacious and comfortable. While Mr. Shiv Kumar, the Manager / Supervisor was very courteous and accommodating, the house-keeping lady staff needs to be dismissed as the rooms are ill-maintained with stains on the furniture. Sweeping and mopping was dismal.

Complimentary breakfast is mostly south Indian, but one can order eggs and bread. Food and service at the hotel are just okay. No room service provided.

Ample parking space. Our 2 days stay here was pleasant and peaceful. We could even take a stroll inside the hotel compound. Overall, a recommended place for all.

Peaceful stay

The hotel is very well situated- close to the caves but away from the crowded city centre. Our rooms were spacious and very comfortable. They serve a good complimentary breakfast  but the lunch and dinner that we had was unremarkable. The staff is pleasant and helpful so our stay here was very pleasant.

Comfortable stay at Badami

Stayed for 2 nights at Hotel Mayura Chalukya during our Badami holiday in AC Semi Deluxe Room. Our stay was very comfortable, right from the time we checked in. Rajesh & Megha at Front Desk always assisted us with a smile. Our request for an Electric Kettle ( to take medicines with hot water ) was honoured without any fuss. The room was very spacious, measuring 350+ Sq. feet which included a big Bathroom & a small dressing area too. The Queen sized comfy bed with Writing Desk & Chair, powerful yet silent LG Split AC, 32" Panasonic LCD, Intercom, 24 Hrs Hot Shower, Coffe table with chairs,  2 x 2 Vitrefied floor tiles. The toiletries too were premium viz. Mysore Sandal Soaps & Biotique Shampoo, Conditioner & Moisturizer. The location is good too, as it is 1.25 Kms away from KSRTC Bus Stand, 5.5 Kms from Badami Railway Station & the market is just 1 Km away. The Restaurant offers relishing buffet b'fast viz. Indian option includes Idli-Medu Wada-Upma-Poha with Tea/Coffee. The Continental option offers Bread Toast with Omlette. The garden surrounding it offers good option to stroll around. Enough parking space for cars & Bikes.  Though this property is categorized under 'Budget' Hotel's, it offers a very comfortable & homely stay. The restaurant serves good South Indian Thali meals for lunch & Ala-Carta for dinner. They also have a Beer Bar section to unwind after a tiring day exploring Badami & its surroundings like Aihole & Pattadakkal. 

The only negative point is that the menu offered at the Restaurant is very limited. Some local delicacies should be served to tourists. ( Even those few which are listed in the Menu Card are not available ).   Also, the restaurant is under-staffed. Hence, during peak hours, service is affected & guests are left unattended for long time. The Breakfast time also, should be preponed  to start from 7.30 am instead of 8 am as most guests have to leave for sightseeing at the earliest to avoid the harsh Sunshine later during the day.  

For those who are looking for Pure Vegetarian food options, only 2 Restaurants in this town - Banashree & Anand Udupi, both next to the KSRTC Bus Stand. But both are very basic & unhygienic, hence don't expect anything great. 

For those interested in Pizza & Burgers, try Monoos Bakes, just 1o min walk from this hotel.

Badami Caves, Fort, Upper & Lower Shivalaya treks, ASI Museum & Bhutnath Temple Complex along Agatsya Lake are little more than 1 Km away & can be usually explored in 3-4 hours. Excursion to Padatakkal & Aihole ( Total 70 Kms circuit fm Badami ) along with stopovers at Mahakuteshwar temple & Banashankari Temple can be easily explored by Auto Rickshaw or Cab in 6-7 hours.  Rickshaw fare for this excursion is Rs 1000 & without the 2 temples is Rs 800. Our Rickshaw guy Mr. Noora was pretty good & his services may be availed if desired - Mobile 9902229196. Rickshaw from / to KSRTC Bus Stand is Rs 50 & to / from Railway Station is Rs 150. 

Overall, strongly recommended for a comfortable & memorable stay at Badami.

Excellent Stay

The facilities were reasonable, there is not much choice in Badami.  The restaurant is good.  The room we were allocated was in the highest category (A/C Deluxe) but did not have a shower.  A further limitation, which might seem trivial, was that the light in the bathroom and just outside it were on a single switch (meaning that one could not use the light in the bathroom without waking up one's partner after you have gone to sleep).Because of the absence of a shower, this room should not be rated in the highest category.
