Ela Ecoland Munnar - A Nature Retreat

Stayed here for 3 days, 2 nights in the treehouse and 1 in river view cottage. I particularly loved sitting on my private terrace listening to the crickets, frogs and stream of an evening. 
Food from a vegetarian point of view was beautiful. 
Service was good and friendly.
Sadly the hot water wasn't very hot at all and be prepared to climb a lot of stairs.
Also the beds were very hard. 
Alll in all though a very pleasant stay. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to get some peace and quiet and get into some nature.

Surrounded by nature.

Gorgeous, relaxing stay in amongst the trees. The food was amazing and the staff very helpful and kind. The tent we stayed in was roomy and felt private, rushing waterfall and bird song as constant company! A lovely quiet place to relax. Thank you! 

Relaxing stay amongst the trees

It's nature. The fact is that I loved this place being a part of nature. Beautiful and comfortable Tents and houses, plantations, awesome healthy food with welcoming hospitality.

In short, the experience here was ineffable.

Stay inside nature, not just close by

Perfect place to stay.
The property is set away from the busy town of munnar in the middle of a plantation. The staff is just amazing. Provides a family setting. There is a stream passing through the property and you can walk along it or take a dip in the ice cold water. Will definitely visit again. Kudos to the staff jithin, Thomas, James, Vimala and Geetha

Best getaway stay in munnar

Unfortunaterly, this was the low-point of our India trip. We looked forward to staying here so much, hidden behind the trees, enjoying the Munnar nature (which we did but). Although the location is great and the spots where the bungalows and tree houses are places are amazing. The accomodation themselves are terrible. We stayed in one of the rock houses, the construction is just metal and wood rods and sheets, with plastic walls and no insulation. We are only 26 years old and not fussy at all, but each morning the rooms and our duvets were freezing cold and damp/wet everywhere. Although it was December (colder season), we expected slightly better quality stay for the price we paid and the least, stay dry.

The bed was hard and umconfortable. The food was OK, nothing special and the service was OK, not great.  

The nature and the place is amaizng! But please have low expectations for the accommodation when you book here.

Not the highlight of our trip

If you are a nature lover , this is a must visit property, very close to nature, this property is facing a beautiful  stream with lots of wild trees , feels like staying in a forest. Above all this the food served was organic with a Kerala taste , the staff there were so helpful and showed great hospitality. Wish we had more time to stay there . Would definitely visit again with more friends and family ...all the best to team Ela.

Awesome property very close to nature

Excellent place to be if you want to be amidst nature.Although the leeches in the rooms are a problem, else it is fine.The staff are helpful and finding the entrance to the resort can be problematic if you reach at night.Advisable not to take senior citizens with you.

Family holiday

Stayed with family (4 of us) in luxury tent (the biggest available).
The stay, the food, the service, was all very good!
Special thanks to Unni (who guided us from the main road) and Vasant (who served us breakfast and dinner).
The approach to the retreat is bit narrow. We'd hired Zoom car Ford Figo. It did well to reach the parking lot.
I also took good 10 min of cold refreshing experience of Kallar river flowing through the property!

Get one with nature!

Stayed at tree house during 1st week of March. It's altogether different experience. Resort is on top of mountain they have 4 tent stays and 1 tree house. Tree house experience was out of world. i would say, a well spent day at natures lap. Tree house is maintained well, and of course no expectations on extra comfort.Food was excellent, breakfast and dinner was given by them. They have taken our preferences and prepared the food. Staff Vasanth was very courteous enough to help us throughout the stay, in fact all of staff members. Except BSNL, no other mobile network works there, resort provides a mobile phone during the stay but is good. 
i booked during week day and we were the only occupants in resort, and there was no security men too. it was bit scary. Wifi is available at reception. No hotels or restaurants out side to eat. consider carrying some junk food for back up. Toiletries were provided. 

Must consider if someone wants to get lost with nature.

At Natures lap tree house

I visited this place with my family, before onset of monsoon. The place is literally on a mountain with tents placed at different slopes of it. There is a natural waterfall inside the place. We had booked two luxury tents, the tents were very clean and comfortable. Food is awesome with a proper south indian menu and in good quantity to gorge on. My parents loved the nature trail of the property that the staff provided. We had a fun time learning bamboo rafting inside. The property is completely natural and you will see bamboo stairs instead of concrete. Lovely place for nature indulgence. Must visit.
