Yogakshema Ayurveda Centre

I visited Yogakshema in Nov 2018 and i have nothing but immense appreciation for this place. Everyone from doctor to therapist to cleaning lady made sure that you get best experience at Yogakshema. Treatments: We were treated by Dr. Ashwini who is the head of Panchkarma dept. He is immensely knowledgeable and modest personality. His sense of humour is such that your ailments are half cured just by visiting him. The prescribed treatments were authentic and were given as per the body type and ailments. Other than him Dr. Reshma, intern Dr. Medha, Emergency Dr. Sanath and Dr. Shankar and sisters Precilla and Ankita checked on us various times throughout the day and ensured that we are being treated correctly, addressed our issues (food, treatment timings, medicine etc.) as soon as reported and ever ready to answer any questions we had. I was down with cold and fever for first couple of days and i was treated with utmost care and being provided kettle, extra blankets, heater, medicine etc. We were encouraged to call Dr. or sister on duty in case of any issues regardless of the the timings (early morning or late nite ). Intern Dr. Medha gave us excellent cupping therapy which relieved us from lower back ache to great extent. During discharge Dr. Ashwini provided a lot of insights to keep our body healthy by food n lifestyle changes so less medications are required. Therapist: The highlight of my stay however was my therapist Manju who was the best therapist i had at any panchkarma centre till date. She was compassionate, patient, extremely detail oriented and very understanding. She speaks 5 languages so it was very easy to communicate with her.I told her about my problem areas or my preferences the very first day and after that i never had the need to repeat it. She made sure that extra attention is given to problem areas. If co-therapist wouldn’t pay attention to those areas she would take extra step to treat those areas herself ensuring that am every bit comfortable and have excellent experience. They both maintained silence during treatments which made the treatments more enjoyable and peaceful. Food: Food however spicy (to my taste) but was delicious and prepared fresh with seasonable vegetables in south indian way. You can also get less or non spicy version of recommended food. I wish they tone down the spice levels to accommodate people from all places, spice levels and doshas so that you are not bound to eat bland food all the time. Tip: If your recommended food is not readily available on the food counter, ask kitchen staff, they are helpful most of the time. If your food requirements are not addressed bring it to either doctor or sister’s attention and they do take care of it. Accommodation: The Yogakshema building has three floors and has almost 20-25 rooms. Rooms are well maintained and cleaned everyday. Bedsheets and towels are changed daily.Treatment rooms are modestly clean with attached washroom. Morning Yoga, evening pranayama and trataka sessions are included in the package. It also has its own beauty parlour. Overall I recommend this place to anyone who would like to get rid of their problems in authentic Ayurvedic ways. I have already made plans to come next year with rest of my family members.
