Staff very friendly, room clean, hot water (but in a bucket), price cheap and positioned in the central. Very good! We would come back! It's near the railway station and to the jeep stands. Highly recommended 

My partner and I stayed at Sundarban Guest House on two separate occasions and had two very different rooms. The more you pay the more you get! On our first visit we stayed in one of the cheapest double rooms (Rs 800) which was dark and not very clean. However, one of the only rooms available on our second visit was one of the suites for Rs 1500; this room was much nicer! It was bright and nicely decorated with paintings on the walls and rugs on the floor. We had a hot shower, AC and comfortable bed with clean bedding. We wished that we had opted to pay a bit more the first time around! Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful and the location was ideal. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Guwahati.

Good value stay in Guwahati 

Good!

I am a solo female traveler and booked two nights at the Sundarban Guesthouse, which sounded like a fair bet according to Lonely Planet.  The toilet in my room didn't flush so I mentioned it to management, who did not do anything about it.  After an extremely noisy and sleepless night I asked to move to a quieter room. I was given a somewhat quieter room which was grubby, had no hot water, smelled like pee and when I got into bed found a dirty sock (not mine) under the pillow. I am also pretty sure I was not the first person to sleep on the sheet.  Even by my rather low standards this hotel was a disappointment.
