Hotel Cochin Crown

The hotel is of a very good standard all round. Spacious bedrooms, comfortable beds and large bathrooms, The buffet food in the main restaurant was excellent with a good choice of dishes which changed nightly. But it was the staff that made for an excellent experience. Everyone we met was super friendly and helpful. Dagad and Nizam on reception went out of their way to sort an issue that was nothing to do with our stay, honestly they could not have been more gracious. I would also highly recommend the spa.

Extremely friendly and professional staff. The room was very clean & up to date.  The buffet breakfast was delicious, the restaurant Hot Rocks was unique & offered a delicious array of menu choices! Only negative was the location of the hotel as it was far from town.

Beautiful view of back waterfront 

Excellent buffet

Clean and well appointed room!

The place is well maintained and the rooms are clean.

But, there is a problem of frequent power failures. I was told that the lift does not work and I was given a room on the fourth floor!!! That apart, the room is very spacious and clean, although the curtains could be a bit better. Two walls of the room are half with glass I got an experience of living in a glass house :-)

The rates off-line are way above the online rates. That is a significant minus!!!

NIce place, close to the railway station.

Me, my nephew and a child minder checked in the hotel on April 27 afternoon for 2 nights. This morning at 9.15 we left for sightseeing by 9.15 am. We returned at 2.15 to rest. We enter the room to a huge mess as it was since morning. Beds not made, towels on floor. 
I called the reception and they sent a person. Along with the person came a person who was responsible for the clenliness of the rooms named Arun. He would be rated top man for excuses...the room was not cleaned because we were sleeping, because you were to check out, because I should informed the reception..because, because,because.. A simple genuine sorry we forgot would suffice..but these lies would not. I would say lack of training.
A bad experience. Food at Crown Plaza was good. People are attentive etc..

Mess at noon

My stay was actually very pleasant.  The staff, esp at the restaurants, was very nice and attentive.  The low rating is due to their reception/billing department.  I redeemed reward points for my stay.  When I checked in, the reception staff assured me that my room was paid for.  The bill at checkout was for the restaurants and room-service charges - all seemed normal.  But a couple of days later when I realized the hotel placed a separate charge on my card, presumably for the room.  I called the hotel, they will not connect me with the billing department, but told me that someone would contact me to resolve the issue.  I waited a week and nothing happened.  I called again, and the same answer - that someone would contact me.  I waited another week, and still nothing happened.  I finally called the credit card rewards program, and they were able to talk to someone in charge and I was told that the hotel would issue a credit, though it might take up to 30 days.  A month and a half later, I still haven't received the credit.  I should have called the credit card to dispute the charge from the beginning than try to work with this hotel directly.
