The hotel is very nice. I just loved it  . The rooms are very beautiful . The breakfast is just awesome  and the staff is so humble mainly in receptionist Mr. Abinash Mishra. My experience in this hotel was awesome and if I again visit this hotel than i will surely visit here

Hotel Mangalam is the best ever Hotel for me in Kolkata. All the staff of Hotel Mangalam are very Friendly, Helpful, & Supportive. The taste of the food was also good. And it has given me experience like I am at my own house. In one call the staff ise to arrive at room to help. It was an amazing experience for me. Thank you so much for this lovely experience.

Stay was perfect with the restaurant at downstairs, which was pretty, Room service was awesome,Tariff was reasonable, very nearby to metro station, near by many eateries and location was posh and transportation to each and every locality was there,

Although it was a business trip but once you are coming back from all day meetings it is a comfortable and calm stay. Peaceful, clean and a great place to stay. And plus you will see markets, malls, food joints all nearby.

A perfect stay and a great place

The hotel has basic amneties, being old hotel they have not upgraded. Rooms are small. Services are good though lack standard. Front desk is not fit for hospitality as they do not wish any guest, are busy playing games on mobile and generally disinterested. However houaekeeping and f&b staff is good.

Ok hotel for the tariif

Stayed at Mangalam Hotel for a night on the 24th November. 
I didn't do any research which I often do before staying at any place but there were change of plans and had to stay in Kolkata for a night in or near Hastings. 
Did a quick book on Goibibo and checked into the deluxe room. It was a nice room, or it looked like Heaven because I was very exhausted.
Location: On main road opposite Pan Asia hotel. Easily accessible via Google maps. You have other eateries, local markets at walking distance. 
Room: Well arranged and equipped. You have tea/coffee maker, TV, a comfy King Bed among others. The AC was an old one and a bit noisy the temperature controller was also not working as it was supposed too. Anyways I didn't bother to get them fixed as I was staying for a night and its winter season, so once the room was cold it stayed cool. The only problem was that being situated on the main road there quite a few honks through out the night, but since I was tired once I fell asleep I was asleep.
Bathroom was nice with all dental and other kits available as I didn't plan for a nights stay.
Overall the cleanliness of the room was pretty standard and gave me peace of mind. 
Food: Had Veg thali and it was pretty Ok, Dal, chapatis, Mix Veg and few more items. Limited choice for Complimentary breakfast: Puri Bhaji and Sandwich.
Staff is professional and courteous. 
Overall a good Restful stay for a quick trip.
