Food was incredible and what a view!!!! The Taj Mahal sits majestically in the background. Golu caffeman was an amazing server too. I ordered the chicken curry and I was very satisfied. Yes, very happy! 100/100

6 nights we stay in a good room with Bath and hot shower. The rooms are clean and. the  was  also a nice rooftop  with a beatyfull view at the Taj Mahal. The owner and the staff are very kindly and helpfull for all we neeed.

Nice staying into the Shanthi lodge

The place is good for the price. Room had a good size with bed and a couch. Room was clean. Hot water available on request, only ask at reception and it will be hot in around 20 minutes. Location is perfect for viewing (roof top) and visiting the Taj Mahal. Staff was nice and helpful. Don't expect a fancy place and you will be fine! Room was on second floor and had Wi-Fi, the ones on the third floor don't.

Good stay for a couple of nights

Chained distressed monkey on the premises!!!!!!After visiting the Taj Mahal we went for a coffee at a rooftop cafe that overlooks this disgusting place. We didn't see much but what we did see was appalling.....either the owner or someone the owner has given permission to, has a monkey chained up and he is forcing it to jump from wall to wall and throwing potatoes for it to fetch in order to provide some sort of sick entertainment for the guests. Needs reporting and shutting down!

APPAULING DONT GO

We expected very simple, but clean accommodations and were sorely let down.  The recent reviews stating that the rooms were clean are surely FAKE!  The sheets had holes and were dirty (staff offered to change them, but it was after 8 p.m. — they should have been ready).  If that were the only problem it would have been ok.  However the bathroom was dirty and obviously not cleaned after the last guest (victim).  The wardrobe was littered with live cockroaches (or some similar bug) as well as cockroaches carcasses. Still we would have asked them to clean things and stayed except there was no AC.  We specifically booked a place with AC.  The staff called the owner who wanted to know what we paid for the room — totally irrelevant — the room was to have AC.  What a SCAM — we could have AC if we paid extra.

We have have traveled many places and have never had the need to leave a hotel we had already paid for.  If you choose to stay here you can expect dirty rooms and to be dealt with dishonestly.  This place should be avoided at all costs.  We ended up hastily picking a place on Airbnb.  It was more expensive but after a long day we were happy to be in a clean, AC room.   Note:  we booked through Agoda who we were not able to reach.

A major rip off

Don’t spend your money there!
The room was dirty so as the toilet, there was almost not light and no WiFi in the room. Hot water only after request and to use with the bucket...Unfriendly personal as well.. not a nice place to stay!
