River Apartments

A really nice apartment with a great view of the river. A comfortable place to stay with plenty of room. Glad to have a washer and dryer, instructions on the operation of them would have been great asset.

It’s a good accommodation for a family. Highly recommended.

Kristin (the owner) is a very caring person, she personally come in to greet us when we arrive; she also knock the door to let us know to come out to see the northern lights; her hospitality really make us feel like we are special guests.  the apartment is very clean, it is equipped with everything we need and kitchen has all needed to make reasonable dinner for family of 4.  Location is also very convenience, short drive to supermarket.  We were very happy with the stay.  One of the best place we choose in Iceland.

We were so happy with our decision to stay at this apartment. The owner is amazing and so responsive. She also supplied many items and was very thoughtful in how everything is set up. If you are thinking about booking this place, you will not be disappointed.

The owner is just wonderful. The apartment is perfect for a couple or small family. We loved having a washer and dryer. Well stocked kitchen! Great location central to lots of wonderful places. Highly recommend. It was one of our favorite places to stay in Iceland.

Wonderful place. Clean, spacious, and decorated nice. All supplies available to cook dinner. Walkable to groceries and restaurants.

Apartment is lower level of owner's home.  Private entrance, well stocked with everything we needed.  Owner was very easy to deal with and even offered to knock on the door if the Northern Lights were out (which they were!).  Would absolutely stay there again if I'm ever back in Selfoss.

Lovely studio apartment looking out on the River. Kristin was wonderful and accommodating.Nice having a kitchen to prepare breakfast and lunch since food in Iceland is pricey.Selfoss the perfect start to start our adventure!!

Wonderful Host and Apartment

Inside the property amenities cleanliness and condition are excellent! However parking is a struggle, outside noise can be an issue, and frequent smoking from others outside limited our ability to enjoy any fresh air. Really good stay but the neighborhood needs to catch up with the excellent internal comforts. Thanks

We were fortunate to stay at the river apartments for one night. The apartment was spacious, everything we needed, excellent view of the river, comfortable bedding and wonderful host. Being at many Airbnb you could see the host truly enjoys what she does and makes your stay as comfortable as possible. She even gave us suggestions for sightseeing printed up and some Icelandic candy. Thanks again Kristin for opening your home ....

Amazing accommodations

Lovely apartment! It was perfect for 4 gals on a trip. We stayed 3 nights and loved having a full kitchen to cook in. Restaurants, grocery, wine store were all close by as were local attractions. Waking up to a view of the river was incredible. The owner Kristin was amazing! Provided us with printed information about things to do and favorite restaurants. She asked if we wanted her to come down if she saw the northern light and of course we said yes. On our final night there was a knock on the door around 11pm and it was Kristin saying the light were out. The only time we saw them on our 8 day trip. We would have missed them if not for her. Thank you for taking such good care of us!!!!

Wonderful place with a touch of home

We stayed at the River Apartments as a stopover from Golden Circle trip before heading further on the Ring Road. Nice residential area close to places to eat in Selfoss. The apartment was really nice. Kristin, owner, sent us an email about a month before the trip with instructions on how to find property and how to check in. She had our name on the door to the apartment, which made sure we got to the right door. There are 2 different apartments on the ground floor of the house. They even checked in on us when we arrived (we arrived quite late), gave us a list of things to do on our planned next day trip to Vik, and welcomed us with delicious bar of chocolate. The apartment was impeccable, we were able to do laundry with dryer and wash our baby supplies. Bed was comfy. The only recommendation I can think of would be to have a more prominent sign by the driveway, so it is easier to locate at night. We found it by the house number before we even realized there was a sign.

Great location, outstanding owner and family.

The accommodations were exceptional and our host was awesome. She knew that we were in Iceland for the 4th of July (US independence holiday) so she picked up my son an Icelandic chocolate bar that I have to say tasted excellent. I only got a little taste as my wife and son enjoyed the heck out of it. More importantly our hostess was very proud of her country and the area she lived. She offered some tips (ice cream was excellent) and the Geyser and Gullfoss waterfall are the coolest most beautiful things I have witness in nature. The Selfoss area was also very nice, lots of restaurant (Yellow was really very good, affordable, and had things for the healthy eater) opportunities. Iceland is a great place to visit if you like nature, and I would put this trip on par with Hawaii and Southwest Utah (Other places I have visited yet all are quite different. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The room was great! It was neat and clean and a lot of amenities. Along with that - the home is situation right on the river giving it a great view all day long. In addition to that - Kristie was a great host! She dropped by and helped us out with common areas to visit and some great local tips. Will highly recommend this place.
