This property was perfect for a quick stay in Iceland!

This hotel is a scam. Beware before booking. We arrived at the swan house and our room was fully occupied. We waited hours in the lobby for an email from the hotel. The hotel workers said this happens consistently. We all had to find new hotel rooms. Note that Expedia is not helping and will not do anything because their customer service says they can’t do anything if hotels scam you. I would not book with Expedia in the future. We are also fairly certain the ‘excellent’ reviews for this hotel are fake. Expedia has also refused to post our valid review multiple times.

We had a terrible experience, unfortunately. We tried to change our booking, one week before we were scheduled to arrive. We were bounced between Expedia and Swan House, each company blamed the other for the problem, and in the end we were charged for the extra day, even though we did not check in until a day later.  We still don't have our money back, now almost six weeks after our trip.  Once at the property, the shower drain was clogged and overflowed into the bathroom. We called for maintenance, but no one ever came. Too bad because was otherwise a great location and cute room.

Bad experience with booking and maintenance

Check in was a nightmare. There is no desk like other hotels. No check in instructions arrived by email or text.  When I called, no one answered. Miraculously, someone called back about 20 minutes later and emailed the check in instructions. 

Worse, the check in email did not mention that the room we were assigned was *not accessible* from the address of the place. It was on another street entirely, and an inconvenient walk with a bunch of luggage. 

The room was great. Very spacious, nicely furnished. We made use of the stovetop several times. The bed was super comfy. Great pillows. 

Super convenient location. Parking is not so convenient, but normal for street parking in a city.

Great location, great room, horrible check in, mid parking

These apartments are in a fantastic location, in the old section of Reykjavik, within walking distance of everything we needed (restaurants, supermarket, museums).  We appreciated the instructions regarding access to the property and our room and the parking suggestions (it was easy to find free overnight parking in T3 near the apartment, and it was easy to use the Parka app to pay for parking during the day).  It is so nice to stay in an apartment when traveling - nice kitchenette area; large, clean bathroom (great shower!); large bedroom with comfortable beds and sofa.  Not the most soundproof from ambient noise in the hallway, but not a problem in the bedroom when sleeping.  Again, great location.  Highly recommend.

Great Apartment in Fantastic Location in Old Section of Reykjavik

The property was in a great location and the instructions for entering the property were very clear. The coffee was nice and the kitchenette had what we needed. There is plenty of parking and save yourself the hassle and download the Parka App. Parking is FREE after 1800 until 0900 even on the street this property is on (P2). We could have saved ourselves 20mins trying to figure that out and it would have been a much smoother check in process. The bed was comfortable and the shower is great.

The rooms were nice but there was a lot of problems. The staff meant to be attebtive but there is no onsite support and they can be slow to respond.  There was only 2 pillows per room and those pillows were way too soft.  Also no microwave or toaster.

Great space but a few issues

The room was a hit. Very spacious, clean and comfortable. We had our room at the top of the house, roof apartment, so we could even see the sea. In the kitchen there was everything you needed. The location is more than optimal, only a short walk to the shopping street with souvenir shops, restaurants and supermarket. The bed is super comfortable, but after a week for us a little too soft, but that is a matter of taste.
