The owners were very friendly and helpful with recommendations. They are a short 10 min walk to downtown and near an amazing and old cemetary, interesting to walk through. Beds were extremely comfy and the place was quiet and relaxing. I highly recommend!!!

Great location, relaxing place

When we arrived after our trip we directly were offered coffe from the hosts. It was a friendly family atmosphere and we sat for a while before the room was ready. The room was small but beds comfortable. The guesthouse is 10 minutes walk from city centre. There is a small bakery close to the guesthouse were you can buy fresh pasterys and bread. One evening we had a barbecue with the hosts and guest, we had a funny a tasty evening. Thanks to Pedro (one of the hosts ) for good advices during our time in Iceland!

Good spirit guesthouse!!

I stayed here last week with my daughter on a long weekend visit to Iceland.  When we arrived the owner Laufey was so friendly and welcoming - she helped me with my suitcase and made us a cup of tea and we had a chat with her about our plans.  Laufey speaks very good English and gave us information about bus times and places to go and even tried to teach us a bit of Icelandic!  Our room had everything we needed and was clean and tidy, as was the guest bathroom and kitchen and dining areas - we really felt comfortable and at home during our short stay; we had use of the full kitchen and a variety of hot drinks and milk were provided.  There was also ample hot water for showers and washing and a large garden for relaxing outside.  The guesthouse was close to the town centre, the harbour front and some local shops and outdoor pool, all of which we visited.  The accommodation is very reasonably priced, our overall stay was less than £60 per night for us both, which is good for Reykjavik!  I would not hesitate to recommend the Nordjurstarnan Guesthouse and would like to thank the owner, Laufey for her friendliness and hospitality.

Cosy and homely place

My partner and I began our visit to Reykjavik/all of Iceland in this nice little guesthouse. Laufey was very lovely and accommodating, as she let us check in at any time and gave us access to the guesthouse even though she was not there until the next morning. The room was somewhat small but that did not bother me. The bathroom was perfectly clean, kitchen offered great facilities though we did not cook in it. The wifi worked well and there is a bookshelf with some useful & interesting books to read. Our 2-night stay was a reasonable price given it was the start of tourist season and the guesthouse is located very close to some of the main roads downtown.
Overall it was really comfortable and I wish that we had gotten to stay there again at the end of our trip!
