Apartment very comfortable. Owner very friendly. Well stocked and modern kitchen. Nice big shower. About a 30 minute walk into Rekjavik centre, which suited us ok, but may not suit others. Great to have your own space.

Effectively a family house converted into a Guesthouse gives a funny but pleasant feel. Very welcoming, offered coffee and the place is kept very nicely. Almost seemed too nice for us tourists.  Would stay again, peaceful. A half hour walk to the centre of town but served by three bus routes so a bus every five minutes to the centre. 

Stayed 3 nights from 17th March. Very nice place to stay. A little dated but very warm and homely. The owner is very talkative and informative, telling us about local amenities etc .Good cooking facilities and equipment.  A car is essential due to location but it's best anyway as you get the freedom to go where you want. A little tip..Park facing down the hill in case of snow and ice.

A Pleasant Stay

Lovely stay in quiet residential area

On arrival we expected to stay in the guest house shown on the advert  upon arrival we were taken to a garrage around the back of the house converted into a flat the front door was badly fitting the frame we were told not to worry about locking it . The  interior  was also very dated .  The shower was  grubby  and hard to use . poor wifi . we had a double bed but two small quilt covers 

Not as expected 

Positive points
Warm, clean and near city center and close to supermarket. Our apartment was separate to the main house with a nice decking area to sit if the weather permits. 

Negatives
Our apartment had so much potential but the place needs fully decorated as the wallpaper in the bedroom was peeling off and had been patched up to cover dampness.  The paint on the windows was peeling off and the wood was swollen so 2windows did not fully shut. Although the shower looked modern it was rusty and full of limescale.

The worst part was the smell when you washed either in the bathroom or used the kitchen sink - smelt like bad drains.   The owner tried to excuse it on the freshness of the water but nowhere else in Iceland smelt like that. 

On check in we were left standing outside at the main house front door in the cold and dark until the owner got our key and showed us to our apartment, not really a warm welcome to start with.
