The hosts were great. Very quick to respond. The apartment was clean and comfortable. The sitting area and kitchen was a nice touch. Beds were very comfortable. Nice bathroom with great water pressure in shower and heated towel racks. Great value, can’t wait to come back.

Excellent place to stay.

A lovely apartment to stay in whilst we were in Reykjavik. We were there for 4 nights however it was as good as a little flat so you could have easily stayed for longer as it was plenty big enough. Check in was very easy, they email you before you get there with check-in details (check your junk folder as mine ended up there). Never actually saw a member of staff but it didn't matter.

Nice lounge area with dining table, good bathroom with a shower and very comfortable bed. The kitchen was great too, with all the equipment you would need to cook your own meals if you wanted. Rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels provided each time

The parking is very handy although on 2 nights we didn't get in the designated driveway but all the roads surrounding the apartment are free to park all day so parking was never an issue and we always found a spot no more than 30 seconds walk

The only slight negative was it was a 15-20 minute walk to 'downtown'. Not so much of a problem if you've got a car or happy to walk but if you're planning on visiting the town every day, it could be a little far out

But all in all it was great and exactly what we wanted

Great place to stay

The owner of this place is super accommodating.  As most U.S. flights get in early in the morning, we were worried about the 2:00 PM check in, but as no one was checking out of our room, we were allowed to arrive early.

We booked a one bedroom apartment with balcony, which was very nice.  Before you book, you might want to ask what floor you will be on.  There is no elevator and only 1-2 rooms per floor.  We were luckily on the first floor, with about 10 (?) steps from the street outside into the building.  But it is a lot of steps between floors, and there would have been virtually no way for us to have gotten our 50 pound bags up to the second or third floors.  Also, double-check the price.  We booked through Booking.com and we were given a price, but on completing the reservation, a fee was added for our third person, even though I had put in originally that it was three of us.

We were given a choice of two twins or a double in the bedroom.  This is accomplished by separating or bringing together the twin beds.  There are sliding doors between the living room and the bedroom.  The double bed in the living room is the couch, but it was very, very comfortable.

We didn't use the porch because of the weather, but it was apparently most used for smoking, as the ashtray was full.

The kitchen includes a stove, oven, refrigerator, toaster, and microwave, that is very high up and you will definitely need to stand on a chair to reach it.  The bathroom has a toilet, sink, and shower with two nice showerheads.

The apartment's heat is easy to adjust and there is a booklet with directions for using it, as well as the TV and the stove.  The booklet also has information about the locations of the nearest public pools and stores.

One thing that we were not so fond of was a strong odor coming from the bathroom.  We know that sulfur is common, but this was stronger than we noticed in other places.  My daughter is pretty sensitive to smells, but she was ok.  We adjusted to it and kept the bathroom door closed, which made the smell even stronger in the bathroom, but it helped cut down on the smell in the living room.  The Wifi worked well.

It says that there is limited, light cleaning.  I wasn't sure what this meant, but they came in every other day, changed the towels, emptied the garbage, and even did the dishes, which I did not expect.

The owner was also really wonderful when we were leaving.  Check out is at 11:00 AM, but our bus was coming at 11:30--he didn't even let me finish my sentence before saying it was fine.  Then I asked if we could possibly leave our luggage (3 very large suitcases and 3 smaller suitcases) since we were going to spend our last night in Iceland at the buubble where we could not bring our luggage.  Again, he was super-accommodating--I was worried it was too much, but he said not to worry about it at all.

One thing to be aware of is that not all tours will pick up here, but some do.  Gray Line did, and I can't remember which others.  We were told multiple times that they would pick up right in front of the building, but most of the time they picked up around the corner (this is a corner building) near the driveway.  Since the buses don't wait for you at all, you need to stand on the corner to see both sides of the building or you are likely to miss your ride, as we did the first day.

I would definitely stay here again, as long as I could be in one of the ground or first floor apartments.

Good place to stay--lots of practical details

We stayed here for three nights in a standard room and thought the apartment was great value for money. Nothing flashy but clean and tidy and everything you need for a short stay. The location is great and only a 10-15 min walk to the old harbor and the bigger supermarkets, and similar to the town centre.  Check in and out was very straight forward and fast.

Excellent value for money 

My husband and I stayed here Saturday 19th - Tuesday 22nd January in the top floor (superior) apartment. The location is great - about 10 minutes brisk walk to the centre and 5 minutes down the road to the sea front. The apartment has all you need and we could have comfortably stayed here longer! Very clean, warm and cosy - couldn't have asked for  more and would definitely return and recommend to others!
