Midtown Hotel

This location is unbeatable!! It’s in the heart of the city, walkable to all restaurants, pubs, shops, etc..The only thing is parking (but that’s the general problem in downtown area). You have to pay parking, and in P1 zone, where the hotel is, is pretty pricey. You can walk few blocks and park in P2. I’d def pick this hotel again. Highly recommend.

Great central location and great price for a modern hotel room and bathroom.

This room was a blast. It was on the upper floor with a balcony and you had a view over Reykjavik. The room was clean and the check in was not complicated. As we once struggled with opening the front door with the code, we dialed the number of the hotel and got immediate help with it. All in all, it was perfect for the last three days in Iceland. Absolute recommend this one.

Once we got past the Expedia check in issues the Hotel checkin was fine. A little noisy at times outside of the hotel and with no AC, leaving windows open at night was necessary during summer stay.  Close to most everything downtown.

Loved the stay. The one drawback is that there is no person desk attendant. Good to know in case you have luggage delivery from the airport when you are not at the hotel.

Place was great overall. Clean and spacious, however as it is downtown, parking is a little hard to find.

Great location near restaurants, pubs and shopping. Grocery store nearby too. Easy walk to tour pick-up stocks. Bed very comfortable.

Great location and fair price. Comfortable beds. Nice shower.

Would definitely stay here again.  The apartment was very clean with lots of natural light.  Laundromat very close by.  Great location for shopping and restaurant options.  Very walkable area.  Most of all though, superb communication from the management.  Call or email - they will respond quickly and are very helpful!

The room was huge but the shower was broken. You physically had to pull up on the shower knob during the entire shower or else the water turned off completely. Missing light bulbs in two lamps and also light in shower was out of the ceiling and just hanging down by a wire. Hot tub was dirty so didn’t get to use that amenity. Great location though and worth the money if you need a place to stay close to everything.

Iliked the room, and found the neighborhood very enjoyable in every way. My one problem was the ramp that joined one part of the building with another. I tripoed late in the evening because there was no warning or lighting of the ramp. I’m 80 and fell up  at the ramp - the ramp blended too well with the carpeting. However, 2 hotel guests helped me up very sweetly and I was able to continue my visit.

The hotel is located on the main shopping street. Super convenient. Easy to walk anywhere you want to check out. The room is nice and neat. The deco actually looks better than the photos. I would have given 5 stars if not for the noise we heard on the second (the last) night staying there. The band in the next pub was very loud. And it didn't stop playing until nearly 6 in the morning. Our room seems to be right on top of the pub without much sound proof at all. We didn't sleep well much.

The good - there couldn’t be a better location. This is right in the center of the tourist area. Many shops, restaurants, and the famous “rainbow street”. Beds are comfortable, a nespresso maker with pods in the room. The bad - It was not made clear when I booked this hotel that it is fully self-serve. There is not a receptionist, or any staff there. I was emailed a code to get into the hotel and another code for the room. There was a group of elderly women who had been just sitting in the lobby for hours, unsure of what to do. The luggage storage is unsecured and unattended, which made me nervous. If you need two beds instead of one, email them ahead of time because you will not see an employee.  There is no deadbolt or way to secure the room door from the inside. As two young women in a foreign country, this made us nervous. We pushed a chair against the door so at least we would wake up if someone entered. The very bad - there is a live band in the bar on floor one. Every night. Our room was on floor two, exactly above the band. They started playing at 8pm and stopped at exactly 11pm, and it sounded like they were playing inside of our room it was so loud. If you plan to be out and about until 11 or later, this isn’t a problem. However, if you are exhausted from a long flight and haven’t slept in over 24 hours, it will be torture. Even with ear plugs it was loud. The band was quite good though, and played a wide variety of songs.

The hotel is right in the middle of all the best shopping and dining, which is awesome! Our room was clean and they did their best to clean it quickly for early access. The only negative feedback I have is that there is no one working the front desk -ever. There’s no direction on where to store your luggage or how you’ll know when your room is ready besides asking staff. In many cases, the code to the luggage storage was wrong. That can be a real let down when you arrive at 7:30 AM and have to wait for your room until 2:00 pm. Otherwise, I would recommend it.

This property is located in the middle of it all. There were lot's of options for dining and shopping and everything was within walking distance. Bus stop for airport transportation and excursions was just a 5 to 10 minute walk from the property. It is located on a no drive street and we liked that. You do not need a car if you stay at this property. There is a bookstore/coffee shop/bar next door that has live entertainment at night. We did enjoy beverages there. Even though we had seen previous reviews complaining of noise from the bands next door, we never heard a peep in our room. It was nice and clean and quiet. It was great to have a small refrigerator and coffee maker in our room as there is not restaurant or bar at the hotel itself.

It's on a pedestrian zone by all the shops and restaurants. No cars but live music plays well into 11pm. at restaurant adjacent. Our room was spacious with microwave and stove top.Other rooms are apartment style with triple bdrooms and double bdrooms.Prime location but tricky to find front entrance, small sign with glass double doors.
