We are a family of five so always hard to find adequate accommodations at a reasonable price. We found it here. 3 bedrooms. Spacious. Good wifi. All the dishes and towels you need. Clean and comfortable. Full kitchen and washer dryer and grill. Close to Selfoss, maybe 15 minutes going the speed limit, so we could get groceries and cook at home. Nice and responsive hosts. All the liquor stores were closed and the host surprised my wife with bottle of wine for her birthday! And yes, we even saw the northern lights one night.

Clean and spacious accommodations

Absolutely amazing property, we were in cottage 4. Rosa really made sure we had everything we could possibly need and much more. From the moment we booked we received a very friendly email thanking us for booking and explaining what we could expect. About 2 weeks before we arrived we received a very helpful and informative email with so many helpful tips for our stay. 
When we arrived we were blown away by how lovely clean and appointed the cottage was. There was also a very helpful folder with lots of information from northern lights websites to places to visit and where to shop or where to eat.  
The cottage was spotlessly clean and warm. There was a huge fridge, all cooking facilities and spices, tea/coffee and even hot chocolate with marshmallows. There were so many really lovely little extras most places wouldn’t even think of, for example Rosa even had beer glasses ready frozen in the freezer for our arrival. 
Our neighbours were also so lovely, especially when they knocked on our door one night to let us know that the northern lights were putting on an amazing display of reds pinks and green colours covering the entire sky. 
Really cannot think of anything more Rosa could do to improve the cottage.
We had a family of 5 and had plenty of space. Easy access to the golden circle and into Selfoss for food and supermarket. 
Absolutely amazing, we would truly love to return. Thank you Rosa  

Icelandic Cottages - Absolutely incredible 

There was a ton of room for our family of four.  Rosa was easy to communicate with both before the stay (she wrote a very informative and thorough welcome email) and at check-in.  We stayed for three nights and it was easily the most comfortable of the five different sets of lodging we had in Iceland.

Family renting a house for a whole year next to the cottages. Three of our children went to play on their empty playground, not believing it would be a problem.  Their were kicked out and told that only renters were allowed to play there. Very strange to throw away children from an emtpy playground. Would never stay there.  very unpolite and unpleasent lady that answered for it.

Not so neigbour friendly..

Stayed in cottage no. 4 for 4 nights in December. Fantastic location for visiting the golden circle. 15 mins drive rom shops. Uninterrupted views to the front. Isolated and peaceful. 3 bedrooms, 2 double and a twin. Very cosy. Very warm. Well equipped. The owner Rosa is super friendly and informative. Will definitely be back.

Fabulous

The Cottages: Rosa has excelled herself in presenting a "home-away-from-home". Extremely comfortable with everytthing you could possibly need.
The Location: about an hour and a half from the airport (you will need a rental car)..it's the perfect spot for day tripping along the coast or inland. 
We stayed 4 nights early December, 2018....though could've stayed another 4 easily.
HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who likes to explore and is not a fan of the "bus-tour" scene. Kaffi Kraus is a great place to eat in Selfoss too.
It snowed heavily the night we got there, which added to the experience, though driving around was no issue. Stick to the roads and the speed limits  and you will be fine.

Beautiful, cozy place to stay

We stayed here between 22nd - 25th October 2018. Amazing and beautiful cottage. Its just an hour and a half away from Keflavik by road. We had rented a car and the roads were easy to drive. The property is well furnished with even a barbeque set at the deck and the kitchen is complete with oil, coffee, tea, creamer, flour right down to spices for cooking a meal which was really amazing.
The host is Rosa, a gem of a person ever willing to give advises and available at anytime. 
This location is located 5 minutes away from the town of Selfoss and also is convenient to tour the Golden Circle and other attractions. 
I will give this property more than a rating of 10!!

Amazing!!

This was an amazing lodge - away from the light pollution of selfoss which allowed us to experience the dancing northern lights for an hour during one of our nights. The lodge was lovely, extremely clean and we had a wonderful meeting with Rósa who looks after the lodges who gave us lots of information. The lodge was full of food ingredients and helped us settle on the first night. We were a party of five and the lodge was definitely big enough but it is a shame that it didn’t have an ensuite to make showering quicker. I have seen that some other lodges have hot tubs and this would truly be icing on the cake considering how clear the nights were.

A warm welcome from the owner who also took time to explain places of interest. Cottage lovely and warm and beautifully appointed with everything we wanted and more. Lovely stay and hard to leave!
Even managed to see a glimpse of the Northern Lights. Good location for travelling around to see waterfalls, glaciers, thermal springs and enjoyed a swim in the secret hot pool.
