What a lovely place to stay. Andi and Yuki were phenomenal hosts. The location is just 10 minutes from the Keflavik airport. I’d recommend staying here at least on your first day and last day. It’s incredibly convenient to get in and just be right at your location. The pickup and drop off service is worth the extra fee.

The accommodations themselves were comfortable. The room was nice and tidy. The bed and pillow were very comfy and I’m pretty particular about that. The bathrooms are shared, but there are two and they’re always clean. It was never an issue at all. 

The geothermal pool is amazing. We were fortunate enough to see the volcano eruption while sitting in there, watching the sky light up bright orange. The walk to the water was just about two minutes, which is definitely worth the view. 

It’s only about 30 minutes to The Blur Lagoon and maybe 45 minutes from Reykjavik. I highly recommend staying here as opposed to Reykjavik as it is peaceful and serene. 

Finally, the breakfast was delicious. I’m a picky eater and every single thing on that plate was excellent. 

You cannot go wrong staying here. There’s a reason it has 5 stars.

Best place to stay near the airport

So everything about 1x6 was delightful, really helpful contact prior to arrival, the place is a treasure trove of artistic expression, colour, warmth and style. Beds linen towels were the crispest loveliest cotton, and proper handmade chocolates to greet our arrival. The geothermal pool was glorious to watch the night sky from,  and breakfast a delicious spread of homemade delights and truly excellent coffee! So it was ten stars… and then as we were about to leave for the airport we had a flat on our hire car…
Andi must have had a lot to do that morning but straight away insisted he take us round the local garages to find air… and when we finally did he then drove with us to the car hire company to hand it over. The amount of stress and anxiety he saved us! Thank you Andi. You are not just a great host, you saved us from a horrible stressful  situation and likely missing our flights. A diamond 💎

Beyond the call!

Awesome place. Really nice hosts.Whales in the bay and northern light outside. Nice rooms and hottub in the garden.

Cozy and perfect

Andi and Yuki truly made our trip. Their place was immaculately clean and tidy. The couple were so helpful and were always there to offer advice and information with out being intrusive. They even took us up to a better view point to see the volcano erupting!

Outstanding - a home away from home

Friendly hosts, close to airport, but definitely for a "niche" customer.

We stayed one night @ 1x6 to break up the long trip from Rome to Seattle. The accommodations are very simple, but very clean and comfortable. My husband and I stayed in the triple room that could sleep three, but we used the extra bed as a place to put our luggage. 

The bed was very comfortable, and we slept well. The bathroom accommodations are artistic, quirky and functional. We didn't need to share the bathrooms much as other guests left early, before we got up in the morning. We were delighted with the exposed copper plumbing and built-in artwork.

The highlight of the stay was breakfast with Andi and Yuki. Not only did we have wonderful fresh food and coffee, but we also shared ideas and conversations that will long provoke thought on different cultural perspectives. 

The location is excellent. A short ride from the airport, but right on the ocean with museums, shopping and dining all within walking distance. This is a great destination for anyone going through Iceland. Well worth the time.

Exceptional experience

We enjoyed our stay at Guesthouse 1x6.  The highlight of our stay was meeting the lovely hosts and enjoying the banter and laughter.  We can highly recommend this lovely guesthouse.

Lovely hosts

My daughter and I absolutely loved this property and hosts. We really enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed longer.

Amazing hosts and super cute house. Beds are comfortable and everything is super clean. It is 10 minutes from the Reykjavík airport and about 40 minutes from Reykjavík, but tons of restaurants and shopping. The mineral is also a nice add on.
