Hotel Edda Isafjordur

I stayed here for 3 weeks while taking a class in Isafjordur. The “hotel” is actually a dorm for boarding high school students during the school year, but is used as a hotel in summer. The rooms are large compared to many Iceland hotel rooms, have private baths, a desk, closet, and large windows. Staff from Hotel Isafjordur comes and services the room every 3 days or so. There is no staff in the building so you have to go into town (walkable) for any extra service. The room key also opened the exterior entrance door, which is otherwise locked. I was able to get my breakfast at Hotel Isafjordur, which was convenient as I had to walk into town every morning anyway. Hotel Edda is a good option for anyone wishing for an economical option to Hotel Isafjordur or Hotel Horn (both very nice in their own right..I have stayed in both) and wanting a private bath, as many guest houses have shared baths instead.
