I would just like to say a massive thank-you  to Heida for accommodating our party of 10 at such short notice , literally the day before our accommodation cancelled on us leaving one of our party utterly devastated, as this trip had been organized for a year. Kelly went to hell and back that morning trying to find alternative accommodation, but thanks to Heida she managed to get most of our party all together on 1 floor, I would highly recommend Heidas home Thankyou once again xx

This hotel is very convenient and located very closed to downtown central of Reykjavik. The cleanliness and the service are very good. Room amenities are also very good. The staff are friendly and you will easily find those who can speak English.I highly recommend Heida's home and Heida is an awesome host.

Stayed here for 4 nights in February. It is in a good spot, close to bus stops 9 and 10 and a 5 minute walk to Bonus supermarket. We stayed in Svala room which has an ensuite and access to a well equipped kitchen. The WiFi was good and shower nice and powerful.
Good value for money for Iceland. Can wholeheartedly recommend and would not hesitate to stay again.

I booked a room for one night. The bedroom I had was nicely decorated, very clean, had enough space and was quiet (no windows towards the street).
The price is seemed fair to me for local standards (135€/n). The lady who greeted us - Heida I assume - was very discreet (which is something I appreciate).
My only criticism is the bathroom. 1/ they're small and there's only one per floor. With three rooms per floor, I can imagine the bathrooms to be in high demand quickly. When I was there many rooms were empty but I imagine it can become uncomfortable if fully booked. 2/ The bathroom on the first floor will need some refreshing works soon.
Overall a nice place.

Booked this months in advance and it is what I expected, a professional run operation that’s good but not perfect.

Accomodation in Reykjavik is expensive by world standards however it is what it is. As such these B and B type places are a good alternative.

It’s a house over 3 floors that has beds, tables etc but no en-suite in the rooms. There appears to be a bathroom on each floor. Clean and everything you need.

Bed was comfortable and the shower was hot.

The place is however noisy, unless they do some soundproof work that isn’t going to change. I had a room on the bottom floor facing the street. Noisy especially before 12am when people walk by talking. Lucky I arrived back at 11 and was gone by 7.30.

All in all value for money. Full kitchen if you need it. Perhaps bring earplugs, but apart from that quite nice.

We stayed in Heida’s home for our anniversary trip to Iceland because we needed a place which comes with a kitchen. The room we stayed in had an attached kitchennete and bathroom. It was pretty well equipped and very cozy. We had a good time. 

Warning- Room is very small. Washroom is tiny enough to accommodate only one person. Bed is also pretty small (queen size)

Good place,great stay. Fantastic location. Stayed in a double room shared bathroom for 3 nights. Pricey as booked last minute. Heida been very helpful since we first booked till checked out,giving out vital information about her place and reykjavik. Bus stop pick up from/to airport/tour just around the corner,very convenient. Everything located just few steps away from here,restaurants,cafe,supermarkets,etc. Rooms comfortable,quiet and relaxing. Kitchen with dining for 2 always available to use during the stay,full amenities,no issues here. Suggestions on the bathroom, to install fixed shower gel and shampoo amenities would be great,since its sharing,a bit a hassle to carry own ones in and out every time when in use,also great for those on the go traveller. Conclusion,we really enjoyed our stay here,great fantastic place. Highly recommended.Thank you Heida.

The location is great. Close to main shopping street and right next to all the tour pick ups. Our flight got in at 5:30am and they let us bring our bags at 9am even though we couldn’t check in until 2pm.  

Our room had a double bed and was in the blue house next door on the 2nd floor. (2B) We shared a bathroom and small kitchen with 2 other rooms. We never had an issue with the bathroom being busy, but one night an inconsiderate couple in the next room was cooking and being very loud around midnight. The other two nights were fine though.  Everything was clean, the beds were soft, water pressure was perfect and the WiFi was great.  There is a grocery store around the corner which helped for quick breakfast food and drinks which you can store in the kitchen. 

After we checked in, which only took about 5 mins, we never saw Heida or heard from her again. It is a very independent place, so if you are looking for someone to help you book tours and find things, this is not the place for you. We were able to figure everything out on our own quite easily though. 

I thought it was quite expensive for what you get, but we did book last minute and over New Years, so I think it was pricier than normal. 

Overall I would recommend again.

Heidas home eas in the center for everything , loved the location , met heida very accommodating, it was after a house so we had no communal ground to chill out except go straight to our room , small to say the least, def would spend money on better accom next time , she could have put milk in the fridge for our coffee for when we landed ,there was a tiny mirror in the room to get ready 😱 4 rooms upstairs had to share tiny bathroom 😂 price was cheap though compared to others in center location great for young backpackers and it was very warm there thank goodness😉

For that price really? Unfortunately Heidas Homes is a very old pension with a specific smell, look and feel and not so much the place it seemed to be online. You will be sharing a bathroom and kitchen with complete strangers, so be prepared for loud and smelly cooking and a toilet situation that is out of the control of hotel service. There are however things heidas home could improve on: shower products are not there and only one towel per person (normally there is a small and big one?), sheets and towels are really long overdue to replace and fix the door separating the bedroom entrance from the kitchen, this could reduce noise coming from the shared parts of the house. But due to the general age of the house I guess the noises will be heard anyways.

We were there only one night and changed to residence apartments basically a few minutes away from heidas home - for the same price this is what you get and SHOULD expect: fully private 50qm new modern and extremely well managed appartment FULL PRIVACY with a balcony, kitchen incl. coffee machine, cerreal & milk, perfectly clean EVERYTHING and luxury products in the bathroom, 3 towels per person and a rain shower amongst many other pleasant surprises.

Please do yourselves a huge favor and do your research before booking this place - we were simply misled by the fotos - the reality is a bit different and not the charming traditional place you may be looking for. I normally only give reviews for things that are truly outstanding because I don’t like to give negative rating on anybody‘s business online - but this place really was a big disappointment for me regards to price value equation.
